Nice place to go, can you say GHOST TOWN, LOL. Not a living soul to be found. Old abandoned hangars, planes that look like they have not flown in decades, and plenty of spider webs. Pilots lounge is an empty (and I mean empty) checkered floor room that is a has been or a yet to be, not sure which. If you want solitude this is the place to go. Fun place to practice gusty conditions and wind shear.

Great fuel price, please keep it up.. Also, a fun place to go and hear the silence occasionally broken by the sound of an airplane engine. I only wish they had a hamburger joint on the field.

The airport isn't pretty, but the fuel price is great. There is a shed around the card reader to shield it from the sun so you can easily see the LCD display on the pump control panel. Also, the pump has a simple on off switch unlike other self-serve facilities with all kinds of interlocks that can drive you crazy. Fuel price as shown on AirNav. I'll take the low price and spiders!

I fly into RHV from So Cal at least once and sometimes twice per month so I always plan to stop @ 3o1 for fuel since it is the most cost effective in the area. I have only had one occasion when the pump did not work. My most recent stop was 8-11-07 and the only thing that I can complain about is that the price was $ 4.009/gal and not the $ 3.96/gal as guaranteed on this web-site, but I won't complain about the extra $ 3.00 it cost me to fill up only that it should match the advertised and guaranteed price. Good gas prices at $3.96. There were lots of spiders on, in, and around the soda machine and porta potty. Had a flat tire in a Piper Archer at 5:55PM on the taxiway (my fault, not the airport's). Nobody around. Got a hold of TDL Aero Enterprises (Cirrus Factory FBO) in Merced. They sent a mechanic who got the tire changed and the plane back in service with a total down time of only 2 hours and 45 minutes. Amazing, but expensive lesson.

Reputation as one of the cheaper places to buy fuel in the area is still well deserved. At the time of this entry- $4.00 per gallon, (44 cents cheaper than Oakland) and pumps working fine.

Flew in Sunday March 5, 2007 and they were out of fuel. It may be safer to call ahead. I called to find out when they will have more fuel, and found out its scheduled for Wednesday 3/7/07.They said they rarely run out of fuel.

No Fuel today - had to fly away with my tail tucked between my wings and on my reserves. Not Cool

Yep, price is $3.12 a gallon as advertised. Flew in today and topped off. Only problem, the bugs were out in force, had to wash the plane when I got home. But, (as the Govinator would say) I'll be back...

Stopped at Gustine for fuel on Jan 19 and again on Jan 21 (100LL). Price was $3.38. Checked AirNav Thursday and saw the price was $3.12. I don't know if the price went down that much in a few days, but next time will check AirNav first. Otherwise, we like the lower fuel prices and always stop when in the area.

Fuel price has been creeping up at Gustine lately, rumor is the City of Gustine is beginning to think they can raise the price, and make more money. The only reason people stop in Gustine is because of the low price. With the pump price narrowing to within 0.10 of other SJV airports, the reason to buy fuel in Gustine is vanishing. I often went out of my way to avoid purchasing fuel at $4.00 plus/gallon at other airports because I knew I could get it at Gustine for 0.40-0.50/gallon cheaper. With the City of Gustine's price now approaching that of Los Banos, Byron, Mariposa, Modesto, and Madera, it just doesn't make sense to go out of the way anymore. Hopefully, when sales start falling off, the City of Gustine will see the error of their ways, and realize that their profit is made from volume, not higher prices. A message to the city of Gustine: Please consider doing everything possible to keep fuel prices low and we will reward you with a continued high volume of sales.

Got fuel on the 24th, price still as noted. Great airport and really friendly people. Pump and receipt machine worked fine. I will definitely come back.

I too commend the city of Gustine for trying to maintain lower fuel prices. About two weeks ago, the fuel pump was broken. I called the city and they said it would be repaired...That there was a notam, but they were sorry. As of May 31, the notam was still in place, but the pump was fixed. So, if you are in the area, stop by and you will be happy again with their fuel prices.

Also stopped by Jan 5. card reader was INOP. Where do we get a 'Gustine' card?
Response from Donald V Hutchins, Chief of Police, Airport Manager The fuel terminal at the Gustine Airport has been running since approximately Jan 12. Because of phone line problems, the terminal was not accepting major credit cards. We apologize for the inconvenience. If fueling problems ever occur, contact City Hall 209-854-6471. Thank you.

Nice price for 100LL, but the pump was inoperative on January 8 - therefore, no fuel available. Many others wasted time landing there for fuel. They should post signs or information on AirNav.

Stopped there yesterday...the credit card reader does not read VISA/Mastercard. It does read Gustine cards. I think it may be temporary, but I am not sure. Check before stopping.
