We flew into Ellington on a busy VFR Sunday in April 2005. You need to pay attention when approaching or departing this airport. The runway is rather short at 1800 feet and there are trees at both ends. There is a busy helicopter school (Northeast Helicopters) and they do touchdown autorotations to the runway. There is also a busy parachuting operation (Connecticut Parachutists). The people are very friendly and helpful and the gas was very reasonable. We enjoyed our visit to Ellington.
