Great little airport. I have been going through them for my flight training and they couldn’t be more helpful. They are always willing to accommodate any needs you have while you’re there. I always look forward to flying there.

I recently was stranded at Poplar Grove on my way to Crystal, MN due to weather. The personnel there were very accommodating. They got me to a hotel for the first couple nights and when I determined that weather would not let up for quite a few days they helped me find a rental car to drive the rest of the way to my destination. George, an A&P there was incredibly friendly and assisted me with minor repair. Steve, the owner picked me up from the hotel the next morning, unfortunately the weather just wasn't cooperating. The tie downs were free, however the heated hangar space was a bit more pricey, 50$ a day compared to 10$ a day at Crystal (KMIC) for transient aircraft w/ fuel purchase. Bottom line, GREAT place to visit, nice people. But I wouldn't recommend staying there for any lengthy period of time during the winter unless you have money to burn.

Super stop. They don't have a regular courtesy car but found one so we could go for lunch. Will stop again when in the area.

This is my home airport, so I may be a bit biased. Great field and family operated by true aviation enthusiasts. There are lots of antiques and other sorts of rare aircraft based here. The FBO even has a Cessna 140 and J-3 Cub on the line for rent (for the last 10+ years that I've been flying there, flown them both too). I've used the maintenance shop from everything from borrowing jumper cables to annuals to an engine overhaul. In the rare occasion that anything has been wrong, talking to Steve Thomas (airport owner) has always set things right. I've always felt more like a friend than a hangar tenant at C77.

What a great little airport. I was based from Poplar Grove for a couple of weeks this summer. Great people and even better service.
