On a multi-state cross country trip of the western states, my Grumman Tiger was not making normal power for mountain crossings. I asked Ron Ecord to check aircraft, and even though they had many planes in the shop, he assigned an A&P to immediately check the compression on my aircraft. One cylinder was low and a borescope indicated exhaust valve damage. They brought my plane directly into the shop, removed the cylinder, replaced the valve guide, ground the seat, installed a new valve and push rod and had my plane ready to go in TWO DAYS!! Fantastic service and quality workmanship. I was thus able to complete the rest of my trip basically on schedule. Further, the cost of the repairs were very reasonable, and much less expensive than my home base. Mountain View Aeromotive is indeed a quality aircraft service facility. I thank their entire crew.

WORST FBO I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS!!! My Cherokee was stranded there after a friend of mine had problems with starter. I called the FBO and spoke to one of the line guys who confirmed my tail number and told me that he placed my Cherokee in tie down, I arrived two nights later to find my airplane sitting in the middle of the ramp with NO chocks on it and nowhere near the tie down area!!! Later I discovered my parking brakes were set... So either I was FIBBED to and my plane sat out on the ramp not tied down or chocked, or they moved it with the parking brakes on!!! "GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE MOUNTAINVIEW!!!!"

09/29/07 Grounded in Taos with starter problems but Ron and Steve came to my rescue. Flew to Taos, installed the new starter, great price and Steve billed me back home a week later. Outstanding people and service.

No complaints about the FBO. Rental car is available from local dealer L&M Auto, (719-589-4651). They are cheaper than the Budget Car rental in the terminal.

Stopped there on the way to a meeting in Salt Lake City to hike in the Sand Dunes National Park. I had a maintenance problem when I was departing. Ron jumped on the problem immediately and had the problem fixed within 24 hours. Great staff and reasonable fuel prices.

I'm sorry that happened to the other poster (no one being around). Most aircraft owners within 60 mi use this FBO. So we're all familiar with it. (We think they offer about the best maintenance in the Rockies.) From about 12:30-1:30, the shop staff is usually at lunch, but the line service guy should still be around. But, as with most small airports, the line guy has many duties besides fueling aircraft. My guess he was somewhere in one of the buildings and didn't hear you. That's unusual, as we usually get great service from everyone at Mountain. View.
