I found Artesia airport and personnel to be wonderful. They drove my wife and me to the hotel and would not take any money. I will go back there.

I have used the shuttle at no charge. This location misses the mark of excellence. Maybe because its city operated and has city owned attitude. I like Artesia because it has a great Italian restaurant. The airport folks have always been great. I go to other areas because of the fuel prices. Artesia adding a self-service tank? Why I am usually the only one at the airport and never wait for anything I can't see the savings for the city, it doesn't add any customer service, adds more cost for the city in maintenance. It would be better to sell the airport to a rator. Services could improve by a real service oriented operator. No reflection on airport personnel. It's the typical way a government operates. Fuel is high here about a dollar more per gallon for 100LL. Artesia compare standards such as comments re; Demming (DEM). I love going to Artesia but usually go to Demming because of the superior services available and 3.55 fuel.

Flew to the airport to meet friends for lunch. When we returned after 17.00 local time, the main building was locked, which includes the rest rooms...And there was no after-hours phone number visible so that we could call for fuel. We ended up having to jump in the plane and fly North to Roswell to get fuel and visit a restroom. Be warned, fellow flyers...

Response from Lance Goodrich, City of Artesia (FBO)
My apologies to the person(s) needing a restroom after business hours. We are in the process to get 24hr self-serve fuel pumps as well as restrooms to avoid such inconveniences in the future. Our after-hours number is posted in the unlocked outer corridor room and we are always happy to accommodate those with prior arrangements. We sincerely hope the aforementioned pilot/passengers will stop in again and we regret the miscommunication.

Prompt service and cheap gas ($3.50ish 100LL, FS). Interesting fuel "truck" rather, a Blazer with a pumper on a trailer! I do not believe I was charged for the "courtesy car" (a '93 Taurus wagon with 170, 000 miles, but the A/C worked!)
