Very impressed ...Being a Canadian pilot I am not at all used to the great service, and flying an old Cessna 172R didn't seem to matter. Wow great services; call the toll free number (even from Canada). The only negative comment was we were unsure if we needed fuel as the line staff greeted us.... So we said we need to discuss. They later pulled our a/c away to the side. When we walked to the a/c we said didn't need fuel, When I was taxiing for the active I looked at the gauges and they both read full. Called upon landing and I spoke to Lindsey said they re-fueled 16.7 gal. And that they sometime re-fuel when asked not to. Not a big deal as they mentioned the $1.00 off on sat/sun. But we were a bit too heavy for my liking on take off (we have long range 52 Gal. Tanks and 3 pilots). I gave her my M/C and she faxed me a receipt-thanks. Aside from the above, a very pleasant trip to the field and Galvin's provided excellent resources for ...Not to mention the great free coffee!

DO NOT, repeat DO NOT TAKE YOUR AIRCRAFT TO THIS PLACE FOR MAINTENANCE! We took our C414A there for annual in late March. One of the items was to overhaul the copilot attitude indicator, which was still broken after they "overhauled" it and required another shop visit. We had them look at pressurization too. You cannot rely on them to keep working items in working condition. Their mechanics left a static pressure line off of the pressurization controller TWICE! Andy the "head mechanic" even promised me that the second time wasn't their fault, but we took it to OUR mechanic and of course he found the static pressure line disconnected. To top it off, THEY LOST 7 YEARS OF OUR AIRCRAFT LOG BOOKS! PLEASE, DO NOT GO TO GALVIN FOR MAINTENANCE!

Response from Andy Houle Piston Maintenance Manager Galvin Flying Services, Inc.
Galvin Flying Services respects and appreciates the opinions of all customers and strives to incorporate positive measures based on customer feedback. Galvin also recognizes that its reputation and perceived performances can be impacted by the performance of vendors we do business with, such as the case with the attitude indicator. In addition, Galvin recognizes and stresses the importance of aircraft logbooks as well as their security, both in house and with owners. Furthermore, Galvin takes great care in the handling and return process to ensure that all logbook materials that are provided are returned to the customer.

Excellent service. Parked our Archer for two nights and topped off. Gas was $1.00 off since we were there over the weekend. Very courteous personnel, pulled up the rental car to the plane, and the facility itself is phenomenal. Will be back again and again!

Definitely the better of the two fixed wing schools at BFI. You will pay more, but you will get more. Galvin has more professional instructors and customer service representatives. The other place does not have that. Don't put much stock in the positive feedback they got on this page.

We flew our Skywagon into Seattle for the first time to have some new avionics installed. From the first phone call, the folks at Galvin were professional, courteous, genuine and helpful. After asking what waterfront hotel they recommended which would be within walking distance of some good restaurants, they not only suggested the Edgewater but made reservations as well. As good FBOs do, we were greeted warmly when we arrived, our rental car was brought to the plane, and the hotel reservations were taken care of for us (not only did we have a room on the water, the hotel was definitely a real find). Our stay in Seattle wouldn't have been the same without the excellent service provided by Galvin's employees. Thanks much!

The entire Galvin Flying Service crew was great on our last visit, even though there was a problem with our pax's rental car, Lisa was very apologetic and accommodating to get them another car quickly. The entire line personnel was very helpful, prompt and had the right attitude. Our hotel reservations were made by them and found out that the rate we were given for coming from Galvin was at least $50.00 less than if we would have made the same reservation over the internet on the hotel web site. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Parked overnight with Galvin last week. When paying for parking, the customer service rep took my credit card, then picked up the phone, dialed, and complained to a colleague about another pilot-customer who had just left. Right in my face. Quite unprofessional.

Stopped at Galvin yesterday. Staff is friendly and courteous, the FBO lounge is clean and quiet, and they even gave me a ride to/from the museum. I'll definitely go back whenever I fly back to Seattle.

I have been flying in and out of Galvin for twenty years and always enjoy great service. As of late, I only visit once a year and it is still a good deal for me in my single engine - even with the high cost of gas, etc. I rented a car and paid for 10 gal of gas at $1.00 off the normal price. YES, weekends are $ 1.00 off!!!

From Brian Prester on 22-Apr-2006
Though the flight school is equipped with new aircraft and knowledgeable flight instructors (FBO is pricey, but you get what you pay for), I do not recommend this facility to any pilot if they have an assertive attitude and do not want to get pushed around. False advertising is very much a perverse policy here. I was set to get checked out in their Seminole and was told a few flights at most. After spending 12 hours filling out paperwork plus bookwork, I was told after my initial flight that due to differences in procedures and training from other schools, I would need to fly with the chief flight instructor. Even before I could do that, I was told to expect to be checked out in 15 hours if even, because it is their primary training aircraft and not for rental purposes. If you've got the money, are passive, and like false expectations, go to Galvin. Flying is a challenge in and of itself; one does not need to abide by lowly hierarchal policies of a conglomerate flight school too.

Response from Nick Frisch, Galvin Flying Services, Inc.
With the blessing of our insurance company, Galvin Flying Services has the privilege of offering a truly extraordinary fleet of airplanes to our valued rental customers, including a Columbia 400, an A36 Bonanza, G1000-equipped Diamond and Cessna models, and, of course, our 2002 Piper Seminole. Our safety culture is built upon recognition of the skills and attitudes required to operate sophisticated personal airplanes safely. In the case of Mr. Prester, the instructor who sacrificed additional multiengine training time to call his behavior in the airplane to the attention of senior management will be commended. We recognize that not everyone will appreciate our serious approach to safe airplane operation, so we are grateful for the growing number of loyal customers who do. We look forward to introducing the Diamond Twin Star to the Galvin rental fleet in May of 2006.

Great service. They did require a fuel buy to park free--I only needed about 5 gallons to top off, and they were fine with that. Also, call before you go if it's a weekend--they give $1 off per gallon of avgas.

First class FBO. Professional and efficient line service, OUTSTANDING facilities and great location. You are within 10 minutes of SEA downtown driving one of their complimentary crew cars. Fuel prices are a bit high, but you definitely get a lot for your dollar when you consider the perks you get, specially if you are staying overnight on their sleeping room or one of their top notch recliners. Certainly recommended.

From Wm. Michaels on 13-Jul-2005
I'm shocked that people are so upset about having to pay to use their services. If you don't buy fuel YOU SHOULD PAY! Galvin and every other FBO are businesses and they are out to make a buck-just like you and me!!! Courtesy cars are always nice, but why do people think that it is their "right" to have one? It costs FBOs money to license, insure, and maintain these cars too. Yes, Galvin is on the pricy side, but you walk in to Wal-mart, Safeway, or a car dealership and start asking for free stuff and see what kind of reaction you get. Thank you Galvin!!!
