Day visit is ok. Overnight stays will cost - $16 for overnight fee, $10 handling fee. $6 landing fee was waved for being under 7, 000lbs. By the way they didn't handle much for me. They couldn't tow my plane because none of their tow bars would work. I had to taxi the aircraft from the front entrance to the ramp. I'd rather their line personnel direct aircraft straight to the parking ramp. 100LL price is usually higher than others around the area. All employees were friendly.

Landmark fuel is way too expensive because they're the only FBO on the field. It's only an OK FBO. Would never stop here unless I had to. Line service is marginal as well, nothing compared to other brand name types

KOMH fuel pump was struck by lightning. No NOTAM has been issued as of 6/13/09. There was no 100LL available here on Saturday. Call before landing, as FSS did not give me a NOTAM for no fuel on Saturday. I had a negative experience with Landmark Aviation at KCHO this afternoon. This morning I called specifically to ask if it would be acceptable to fill a 5-gallon fuel container so that I could fill my airplane stuck at KOMH with minimum fuel. The pumps at KOMH are out due to a lightning strike. When I called this morning, they indicated it would be no problem to do this. When I arrived in the afternoon, after purchasing a new 5-gallon fuel container at Lowes, I was told this was impossible. I am in an AOG condition due to minimum fuel, and don't want to take off without adding 5 gallons. I talked to the FBO at KLKU (Louisa County Airport), and they indicated this would not be a problem, but by now, I will have to wait until tomorrow to fuel. I'm minimum fuel only because my last two fuel stops had ZERO fuel. The first had issued a NOTAM for no fuel, but I was diverting due to weather, the second was my destination, and they had no NOTAM for any fuel.

We landed our F33A Bonanza on 5/22/08 for a short visit - lunch with our son & family, then on to West Virginia. Service was friendly - met on ramp -parked close to terminal- aircraft was refueled and ready to go when we were - paid $4.52/gallon, no other fees. Very pleasant experience.

Flew in to Charlottesville this morning to stop at Univ. of Virginia for the day. The line guy was outside waiting for me which was very nice since I didn't have to wait and waste gas. Didn't need fuel, but they charged a $10 HANDLING fee, not landing fee according to the front desk. Upon departure, I noticed they parked my C172 nearly 2 inches from another 172. The line guy said that he will marshall me out, instead I asked him if he could move my plane forward to avoid hitting the other plane. He had that OK nod but had a blank stare as if he was clueless. A group of people was on the ramp nearly 10 feet from my airplane, staring and just chatting, I guess watching a fellow member on his first solo, congrats to him. I waited until the group left to start my engine while the line guy never towed my airplane or never took the chocks off, I had to do it myself. I just threw it on the ground and left very carefully to avoid hitting the other aircraft. Great service, huh?

I flew in today, stayed a couple of hours, but did not buy gas. The landing fee was $10 (for a single-engine piston plane), which was hardly expensive. The FBO is very nicely appointed.

Landed in CHO Friday, asked about fuel minimums vs. ramp fees. They said 50 gals. Or $125. For a King Air. I went for the 50 gals. Saturday morning they had not fueled my plane and did not charge anything. The CSR did not know where the computer was for filing flight plans. Nice clean FBO with high fuel prices, I got lucky on the fees because the left hand did not know what the right hand was doing.

Needed to be in CHO on and off for about a month . . . talked with the manager (John) and he worked out a VERY REASONABLE rate for a tie down fee. The employees there are very helpful and friendly. The aircraft was fueled when asked and even brought up to the door for departure. THANKS LANDMARK AVIATION!!

Nicely appointed FBO. Ramp fee is now $16, not waived with fuel purchase. Fuel is not inexpensive.

Due to a family emergency, I had the opportunity to try Landmark at CHO once again. I must echo the comments that the line guys are superb. They were very helpful, helped tie down the airplane, brought the rental car out, etc. Also I must commend the FBO for having the rental car arranged as requested. Unfortunately, problems similar to last visit persisted. Most importantly, although I faxed AND asked on checking for full refueling, I once again arrived to the airport without the plane being fueled. When I was ready to go, the fuel truck was in maintenance, adding to the delay. This was resolved, and I was on my way with about a 20-minute delay, but geez, guys. The staff on duty was apologetic, and waived a night's parking for the inconvenience. I appreciate the effort to make up for the oversight, but remain concerned at the difficulties I seem to face on my visits to Landmark at CHO.

Wanted to fly to CHO to visit next week for four nights . . . I called there first and was told it would be $25 per night for tie down!!! Are you kidding me? But they would wave the additional $10 handling fee if I bought 10 gallons of fuel (which costs over $1/gallon more than other nearby airports) . . . What a deal.

Very good service here today. Gas isn't cheap but facilities are very nice. Main FBO no longer sells VFR sectionals (!) but flight school in hangar next door does. Guy there was very helpful.

Stopped here for a few hours. Got marshaled and ramped promptly. They even put up safety cones around my plane. Excellent facility and no charge for the parking. Good southern hospitality.

I was happy to read the April 2007 postings. Maybe it means that comments on this board actually have some impact! I am sure I will have occasion to use CHO in the future, and look forward to the improved service. I must say, however, that the folks over at LKU make it an attractive overnight for my visits to the Charlottesville area.

I'm a base customer at Charlottesville flying a GA single out of CHO/Landmark 1-2 times each week. Landmark is a top-notch facility providing fuel, maintenance and hangar facilities. Their maintenance team has done an excellent job to date working on my plane and I recommend them highly. Fuel is a bit on the expensive side but the facilities are commensurate. Sandwiches are available inside the main airport terminal a five-minute walk or shuttle van ride from Landmark. I walk the 200 yards out to my plane multiple times each week without difficulty. I can't believe someone previously complained about walking outdoors in beautiful South West Virginia. Line service will give you a ride out to your plane when asked. Tie down spots are limited you might be chalked overnight unless its really windy out. On the whole, I've really enjoyed being based here and recommend Landmark and the airport highly as a base and for transient services.

We flew into CHO for the first time this Saturday with some small concern based on the comments posted in the past year. If all previous ratings are true, Landmark has undergone major changes. The reception on the flight line was quick (at a run) and professional. The tanks were topped off before we finished checking in at the counter. Everything inside the FBO was clean and well maintained. Upon checkout the following day I was told the parking fee was waived with the fuel purchase. Current price was about 4.23 for Avgas, not the highest I've paid in the last month. It is true that the GA planes get parked well away from the office - probably 600' or so, but the walk was no big deal. All in all a good experience.
