We stopped at Western Flight and our Mirage spent one night there this past weekend. They were super.....yet another world class FBO in SOCAL. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Also, the airport, runway and controllers were all excellent; KCRQ is a first rate airport!

Superb service for a one-fan flyer. Not one but two linemen parked me, and the plane was pulled up in front ready to go within 5 minutes of my return to the FBO two days later. Super friendly and helpful desk staff. AOPA fuel discount offered without my asking. Excellent pilot lounge with good workspace (and cookies). Tiedown fee waved for a modest fuel purchase. Western offered all the signs of an FBO who wanted me back, and I'll definitely be back.

A fantastic FBO! Flew in with a lock/door problem and WF had a locksmith standing by when we pulled in; rental car was waiting and they found a lower-priced car (without even asking); service was outstanding and the small service-issue encountered was resolved immediately, pleasantly, and professionally. While everything at CRQ is expensive, WF is well worth it and you won't be disappointed. That said, be careful to write down clearances carefully - they are confusing at this airport since they always differ from the published Departure Procedures in SW-3. Ask for clarification and the specific routing(s), as the airspace is busy and intricate.

I just flew in to Palomar with a few friends for dinner and parked with Western Flight. I called ahead and arranged a crew car and they were happy to provide it. They have a nice facility with great service, and treated our 172 like it was a Gulfstream. Well worth the $20 ramp fee.

WFS provided my colleague and me with excellent service on 5/21/09. They took great care of N6393C, topped the tanks, and waived the parking fee. Our rental car was waiting for us at the tie down location. We returned in the afternoon after our APCO business meeting, and everything was ready for departure. Big thanks go to Kathy Wisniewski (FBO Mgr.), Jessica Sheridan, and Chris Cummings for their assistance in making necessary arrangements, and for their superb customer service at the counter. Western Flight SERVICES is the place to go at KCRQ.

Stopped in there today and the service was fantastic. One of the cheaper places to fill up on the coast. The ladies behind the desk were very friendly and helpful. They had freshly made cookies and iced tea complimentary. They even gave us a couple of putters to put around on their putting green. Top notch FBO!! Highly recommend for a place to stop and fill up!!

Stopped at Western Flight on our way to the Air Races in SD this last weekend. The service was remarkable. Very friendly staff organized a rental for us last minute and met us on the ramp with it so we could load our bags with no fuss. The young lady at the desk was over the top friendly and is the type of person that you would come back to see again and again. Full of info, had all the answers, service with a smile, top notch all the way. Briefing room was nice, overall amenities were good. Ramp fee is waived if you buy fuel. Everything went smooth and we will definitely be back.

KCRQ is NOT GA Friendly! NO TRANSIENT PARKING at this airport! Do not follow the man waving you in. As others have stated it will cost you $20 if you shut down here for even a second. One guy even tried to tell us to put our camera away, then tried, but failed to tell me the airport was private property, as if they were sheltering Paris Hilton or someone else more "worthy".

Very DISAPPOINTED with Western Flight. I flew into CRQ to pick up a friend, but their transient parking was closed (resurfacing?). I told ground control I'd head over to Western Flight instead. Western's polite ground crew waved me into one of their many empty spots (there was only one other plane there), and I killed my engine just as my friend was walking across the tarmac to meet me at the plane. Western, however, refused to let me leave until I paid a $20 "landing/parking fee" for my light, single-engine A/C. I was shocked. I spent a total of ~15min from engine stop to engine start, and the experience cost me $20.

Western Flight Services is the best FBO of the ones our flight department frequents. Terry and Amanda in the office, and John on the flightline, especially, are true professionals who obviously love their job, and love to serve airplanes, their crews, and their passengers. They all especially shine when we're in need of a quick turnaround. It's a pleasure to visit Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, mainly because of these great folks at Western.

We operate primarily out of Carlsbad/Palomar Airport off the Western Flight Line. Their support for our operation has been superb. They are very proactive staging our airplanes, ensuring they are fueled expeditiously, catered, and supported. John Nauslar runs a very efficient and responsive line and our customers and us could not be happier.

My partner and I landed at CRQ on 8/28/08 in Cessna 172 42RL. I selected Western as our FBO for local services and boy I'm glad I did. From the time we taxied to a tie down position to the time of departure later in the afternoon, the service we received was absolutely superb! The ops-counter and ground crew were very helpful, courteous and upbeat. From our viewpoint, Western Flight SERVICES is perfectly named!

Nice staff, I was told there were no tie downs on the entire field, not good for my c180. After a fill, charged $15/night.

I stopped in to buy or use some window cleaner. After standing at the desk for 15 minutes the line guy calls the desk gal on the radio to tell her he can't find any. Little did he know I could see him in the back room and he never even tried to find any. If you stop at CRQ find another FBO if you want any service.

Not my favorite, the car I asked them to reserve never showed up (2 hours late) however they did cancel the Hertz and get an Avis. Upon my return the plane was not fueled as requested and I had to wait 30+ minutes for them to move and fuel, then another 15 minutes while I waited for a woman behind the desk to finish a personal phone call about going out to dinner before she could run my credit card. There was another lady there however she didn't know how to run the card!!!! The final straw was the price, they billed $5.44/gallon and their guaranteed price was $5.05. All in all there were plenty of friendly staff however, they were not too interested in providing good customer service.

Western Flight located on SE side of field is a GA friendly FBO. Good bathrooms and pilot briefing room. Linesmen were attentive and helpful with fuel and air into tires. Overnight parking fee waived with fuel purchase. Provided discount for using Shell aviation credit card. They do not have charts, but Denise volunteered to drive me over to a pilot shop on west side of field to purchase approach plates.

If you plan on using Western Flight just understand fuel prices are decent, service marginal and be prepared to park you own airplane unless you are driving a jet.... And that means bring your own tow bar apparently. Next time I'll pay the .20 cents more and go to Jetsource. Charged more for overnight fees than quoted on the phone and did not waive any of them with fuel purchase. Manager said NEXT time I come in she would waive all overnight fees since line service was bad, discrepancy on fuel order and overall disinterested service. NEXT time I will be somewhere else!!!!

Pretty decent service although the place was somewhat busy. Self serve fuel price very reasonable but requires crossing runway to the north side - Jepp airport plate not up-to-date and does not depict northside taxiways. Two self-serve pumps available. Fuel dispensed rather slowly though.

Visited here on 5-3-07. Came in on our humble 182. Parking was no issue; line crew showed us exactly where to go and got us tied down no problem. Staff lent us a crew car for a quick lunch down the street. Plane was fueled as requested and ready to go as soon as we got back. FBO is well kept and comfortable. Great place will make this our stop when back in the area.

November 3, 2006 - I flew in with a friend to take care of some business. We were only there for a few hours but Western Flight went out of their way to accommodate our visit. In particular, Toni and Amanda were extremely professional and helpful. They treated us like VIPs and loaned us a courtesy car for our visit even though we didn't need any fuel. The entire staff was top notch and I would definitely use their services again. Thanks Western Flight for making our trip enjoyable.
