The ceiling for the AWOS is unreliable. I was 20 miles out, listened to the AWOS, and it was calling 2000 broken with multiple layers above that, and when I arrived it was perfectly clear. It was clear within a 100-mile radius of DYB. I called FSS and notified them that the DYB AWOS was unreliable. They told me the airport manager has to call in a NOTAM for something like that. There were no NOTAMS about the ceiling for the AWOS system that night. The runway is in excellent condition, and the people at Pelican Aviation are more than helpful if you have issues with your plane. The airport can get busy with flight school activity.
