I planned a cross country flight to Summerville for a friends wedding based on the fact that KDYB's fuel was listed on here at a significantly lower price than any of the downtown airports. When I got there I found out the fuel was 43 cents a gallon more than advertised. The kind and courteous staff honored the price and made what would have been a frustrating situation turn out great. I do wish they had some sort of computer access for flight planning purposes though. All of your decision-making information must be gathered over the phone from a briefer. All in all a great place to stop if you're going to the Charleston, SC area.

Pelican Aviation personifies all that is great about general aviation. The owner gave us a ride to the rental car agency, which is about 25 miles away! They literally "go out of their way" to make your stop enjoyable.

After KJZI being so pricey ($60 plus tiedown), I decided to try this airport. Very very nice. Folks were friendly, helpful, good fuel price. Straight shot down I-26 to downtown.

Made an unscheduled fuel stop here, had me back in the air in 15 to 20 min. Have stopped here several times between PA & FL. Always the same good & friendly service.

I went back to Summerville after experiencing a stuck valve in the air. Folks on the ground were extremely helpful and accommodating (I know this happened before my previous comment was posted, so I know it was sincere). A fellow pilot gave me a ride to CHS to get a car. Wouldn't accept any money for gas. Returned a week later with my mechanic and we were given free reign to use tools we didn't think we would have need and therefore didn't bring. Overall a great experience!! I'm now eating crow! And awaiting my next trip back!

I've been here twice in the last 2 months. Both times for the weekend. Requested top-offs on fuel on Friday, showed up on Sunday and both times had to wait for fuel, despite being told they would leave a note on Friday. Rented cars both times and had trouble getting on the tarmac to unload bags. (no one managing the gate). Saw a golf cart, never was offered. Folks are friendly, but they're missing out on service. Going to try the "big" airport. Willing to pay extra for convienence.

I chose DYB as my fuel stop between Philadelphia and Miami because of its fabulous fuel price. The service was quick and friendly. While I was there, the fueler (also their chief A&P mechanic) noticed that one of my brakes was leaking fluid. They had the part in stock, replaced it in about 20 minutes, and I was on my way -- for only $67 (parts and labor). Fabulous! A great place to stop for cheap fuel and a clean bathroom, but their only food is a candy machine and a coffee pot.

Had an alternator failure en route to Walterboro. No repair facility was available there. Contacted Pelican Aviation and made the short jump to DYB after a battery charge. The father and son team jumped right on the problem and had an alternator in stock. Also changed the oil and fueled the aircraft even though I was a drop in. Price was very reasonable. Locals drifting through made for entertaining conversation while waiting on the repairs. Total turn around time 3 hours and I was back in the air. I highly recommend Pelican aviation.

Asked for and received a quick turn. Very nice people. When I got the bill, it was 50 cents higher than posted on AirNav. Call ahead for accurate pricing.

Stopped for fuel on 4/9/07 and discovered I had a bad fuel leak. Two people went to work on the problem immediately and the problem was fixed in less then an hour. The mechanics were great, the service was even better and I could not have been treated any nicer. If I am ever in the area again, I will sure stop here for a top off. Thanks again, You Guys for the nice experience!!!!!!!!!
