Great control tower with long wide runways. FBO is very useful and line boys are almost always there to help park. Will use them any time I am in the area.

It has become my fuel stop between New Jersey (KMMU) and Florida (KFLL). Great friendly service, Kenric always ready to help, good fuel prices with extra AOPA card discount, great and professional tower controlers, large runways, probably my twelfth stop and consistently same service. I will be back soon.

I arrived on a Friday morning after having my left vacuum pump fail in flight. Fortunately, I was carrying a spare and even more fortunately, Powers Aviation was able to swap it out while I did my business in town. Thanks to the friendly folks at Powers and especially to Maurice, the mechanic on duty, I was able to continue my planned itinerary without delay.

Landed at FLO to get dinner and look at weather before proceeding to ILM. Powers Aviation readily provided a courtesy van even though we were flying a C-172 and only needed about 15g fuel, and when we were unable to proceed due to wx arranged transportation to a hotel. Nice facility. Friendly people.

Flying back from FL to VA and decided to stop into Florence for some of that BBQ that was mentioned in a previous comment. We found out upon our arrival that most of the best BBQ places are only open Thur - Sunday, the woman at the Powers Aviation counter informed me of this. She did recommend the 301 Drive Thru. I ordered the BBQ there and it was good, not great but good. I will be back for some of SC BBQ that I did not get on this trip. What a great place to land. People are friendly and the service is great. I have stopped here before and it is consistently great.

Did a quick fuel stop this week. Great service by the FBO and by the Tower. Friendly people who are good at their jobs.

Spent a few hours here yesterday while waiting to do a Aerial photo shoot for the NASCAR race at Darlington. The folks at Powers had provided a catered BBQ meal for all the pilots flying in for the race. That had to be the best dad-gummed BBQ I have EVER had in my life! And I live near Lexington, NC! So that is saying something! Good people down there.

Visited Florence again on 4/7-9/06 and the service at Powers was very good. Will return!
