The Signature operation at Hilton Head HXD is very good, by any standard. Signature tends to be the whipping post of FBO's and for some good reasons in places; HXD just isn't one of them. We were well treated in an A36, pulled up for departure! And our windshield was being cleaned as we walked out to the plane. Good on the team there.

In response to my comment below, the general manager of the Signature HXD not only apologized for the poor service we received but also refunded all fees and lowered the PC12 handling charge for future visits. Nice to know some Signatures still care and that AirNav works!

$270 "handling charge" for a Pilatus and we had to make our own coffee and get our own newspapers. Good to see the Signature brand *quality* service has properly reached this place. Fuel is $1.20 more than next door Beaufort Co. too. Such a shame.

Stayed two nights. Very friendly service. Fuel discount $.50/gal on weekend. Parking fee waived on 1st night w/gas purchase. Very attentive staff. Great experience.

We're back in action after months of hail damage repair. Good to see that much of the old crew is still present at HXD. The service here is to be admired. Just call ahead and you'll have the vehicles brought plane side as you shut down, golf carts with plenty of line personnel to move you quickly, they'll set you up with accommodations, nice FBO interior, etc. Great 'Island' feel portrayed. G.M. Mike works well with all--don't hesitate to ask for anything. Friendly folks.

Typical Signature "experience" (where they have no competition. Stayed at HXD for 4 nights. They charged $40 per night for a tie down fee for each night. They wanted $90 for a "handling fee" or 50 gallons of fuel. The fuel was $7.11 per gallon. While the service was good - it was not any better than many other FBO operations and not as good as many. These folks are gauging the industry. $40 /night for a tie down on a single engine? AND $7.11 per gallon of fuel? (I would not complain if it was $20 - $30 night or $6.50 / gal - both of which are high prices - but aircraft are expensive to operate). It is the gouging that Signature does that steams me. Flying will end as long as pirates like Signature keep doing business this way. Why a local airport will allow these folks to do their monopoly pricing is bizarre. If there were another choice, no one would do business with these folks.

Stayed the weekend in Hilton head, and even though we didn't have a jet, you could feel the highest level of service! Immediately after engine shutdown, a friendly line attendant who took my fuel order and offered his golf cart for transportation for our passengers and baggage greeted me. Inside the terminal, the desk clerks were nothing but efficient, helpful, and friendly - I was very impressed (especially with the weekend discount on 100LL!). Thank you for a wonderful experience - I wish that all FBO's were as good as this one.

I haven't even used Signature yet and I am already angry.... We are supposed to be flying to HXD the weekend of Memorial Day to meet childhood friends of my wife..... So my wife called Signature today to inquire about tie-downs and overnight fees and she was told that there is a one time $28 HANDLING FEE to tow your plane and tie it down!!!!! What is up with that? It's not bad enough that fuel is typically more expensive at Signature that other FBO's and that Carolina Air Center would never charge a ridiculous fee like that or that I can taxi my airplane anywhere on the ramp and tie it down myself for FREE!!!!! Simply AMAZING......I haven't even started the vacation yet and Signature has already blemished it..... Thank you!!!!!
