Incredible service! On a return trip from Daytona Beach, FL to Bowling Green, Ohio I stopped in overnight due to bad weather. Front desk treated my students and I like kings. In just a C-172 we had quick service, friendly desk workers, and the line guy was great. Most pleasant crew I think I've ever seen. Desk girls loaned us the crew car overnight and gave us a discounted FBO rate at the local Hampton Inn. Great FBO!

Fantastic service...Signature gets a deservedly bad wrap everywhere else for high costs and crappy attitudes.... These guys should write a new training manual for the rest! We were treated like regulars, EXCELLENT line service and truly pleasant and helpful CSR's. Rental car was ready and waiting upon arrival. These folks deserve your business. (...And they will get it since there is no competition on the field.)

From Paul Marx on 16-Aug-2009
Excellent FBO. Polite, considerate personnel with a facility that is well kept and clean.

From Mark Swatek on 13-Jul-2009
We flew in for the day to HXD and on arrival we were greeted and parked by the GM Mike and had our rental car company ready for our pickup when we got into the building. Mike has a great staff and even though it's a "Signature" operation with the high fuel prices and handling fees they do a good job meeting your individual needs quickly and professionally. That is a tribute to the GM Mike and his hands on approach with his team. We will be back again soon.

This is not your father's Signature Flight Support location!! Whether it's the southern charm or proximity to a great relaxation spot, these folks know how to help you start and end your vacation. Special thanks to Heather (for sticking her head outside to see if the storm had passed), Dan (for helping with the luggage) and Christina (for clearing up my questions on the billing). $30 handling fee is waived if you purchase fuel, and while fuel may be a little pricy, I was able to save $.50/gal by having it pumped on the weekend instead of Friday when we arrived. Only game in town, but don't act like it. Keep up the great service.

One of the best FBO's around. Hi Jennifer.

From John Sullivan on 13-Apr-2009
I've been flying into Hilton Head for 10+ years. Even though the ownership if this FBO changed about a year ago, their service remains the best of any FBO I visit. Currently, I'm here during the Heritage Golf Tourney. Very busy. They were able to get my 414 into a hangar when a line of strong storms was approaching. I'll sleep better tonight knowing my plane is safely tucked away. Thank You Mike!

The people at Signature HXD are great. I flew in from Atlanta with my wife for a day of kayaking. After they parked us, Heather at the desk was happy to drive us across the island to the kayak rental. More impressive, she came and picked us and our soggy gear up 5 hours later. This "Jet-set" treatment for a C172! It really made this an easy trip; I only had to think about flying and kayaking, no logistics!

Overnight with PA-28. So what if fuel is expensive. Was treated on arrival and departure very courteously. Class operation.

From Michael Vaupell on 23-Feb-2009
I routinely fly into HXD in an Eclipse 500 and I can say the service is very good. I am here so much that it's like visiting friends but even the first time they really went above and beyond. Signature always is a little more expensive but the people at HXD definitely work for their money. Whenever I come in everything is taken care of and waiting for me even if I don't call "in range". Thanks to all the line and CSR folks at HXD.

From Daniel Lang on 07-Feb-2009
I had outstanding service at Signature Hilton Head last weekend... I only got 20 gallons of fuel in a 172, but you would think I brought a lot larger airplane for the service I got. They gave me a crew car, tied down the plane, and were very friendly throughout. Great experience, thanks a lot, and keep it up; I'll be back soon!

From Ken Bagwell on 05-Dec-2008
Signature is the only FBO on the field and while their fuel is very expensive, the service is also very good. They charge a $70 handling fee for twins, which is waived if you purchase 40 gallons of fuel. Their parking charge goes from $20 a night to $10 a night if fuel is purchased. This airport is a lot of fun to land at and the Hilton Head area is a great place to visit.

I admit to reading the comments here prior to my trip to HXD and having very low expectations. When we arrived the FBO was extremely busy and after carrying our bags all the way across the apron I encountered a miscommunication inside that as it happened was my fault. Mike Bennett sat with me and with extreme professionalism handled the situation. His attitude was rivaled only by "Mark the lineman" (and 5000hr pilot) upon our departure when we had a minor mechanical problem. Mark was also very friendly and helpful in getting us off the ground and back home. We've been to many airports and even other Signature FBO's but this is the first time I've felt compelled to write. This crew is beyond comparison to any other. Disregard the negative comments on this board and be certain to visit the folks at Signature HXD, they are terrific.

From Eric Perdew on 07-Oct-2008
I had read comments about the FBO before my flight as it had been over 11 years since I was last in Hilton Head. Some of the comments weren't too flattering, but when I was there on 10/6 for an Angel Flight the whole FBO (ground crew, desk personnel, manager, etc.) couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. It is a first-rate place, and if you go there for any purpose (Angel Flight, leisure, or business) they will treat you very well. I was impressed with them...

From John Sullivan on 10-Sep-2008
I had a maintenance issue leaving HXD and the good people at Signature were outstanding helping me arrange for maintenance -- especially Mike Bennett. The maintenance shop including Ralf Schey and Gary Glidner worked long hours on a holiday weekend to help me. Thanks!!!

From Eddie Esserman on 02-Sep-2008
The Signature operation at Hilton Head HXD is very good, by any standard. Signature tends to be the whipping post of FBO's and for some good reasons in places; HXD just isn't one of them. We were well treated in an A36, pulled up for departure! And our windshield was being cleaned as we walked out to the plane. Good on the team there.

From Tim Cloutier on 27-Aug-2008
In response to my comment below, the general manager of the Signature HXD not only apologized for the poor service we received but also refunded all fees and lowered the PC12 handling charge for future visits. Nice to know some Signatures still care and that AirNav works!

From Tim Cloutier on 17-Aug-2008
$270 "handling charge" for a Pilatus and we had to make our own coffee and get our own newspapers. Good to see the Signature brand *quality* service has properly reached this place. Fuel is $1.20 more than next door Beaufort Co. too. Such a shame.

From Ron J. Arnold on 05-Aug-2008
Stayed two nights. Very friendly service. Fuel discount $.50/gal on weekend. Parking fee waived on 1st night w/gas purchase. Very attentive staff. Great experience.

From Todd Fox on 01-Aug-2008
We're back in action after months of hail damage repair. Good to see that much of the old crew is still present at HXD. The service here is to be admired. Just call ahead and you'll have the vehicles brought plane side as you shut down, golf carts with plenty of line personnel to move you quickly, they'll set you up with accommodations, nice FBO interior, etc. Great 'Island' feel portrayed. G.M. Mike works well with all--don't hesitate to ask for anything. Friendly folks.

From Donald Thompson on 28-Jul-2008
Typical Signature "experience" (where they have no competition. Stayed at HXD for 4 nights. They charged $40 per night for a tie down fee for each night. They wanted $90 for a "handling fee" or 50 gallons of fuel. The fuel was $7.11 per gallon. While the service was good - it was not any better than many other FBO operations and not as good as many. These folks are gauging the industry. $40 /night for a tie down on a single engine? AND $7.11 per gallon of fuel? (I would not complain if it was $20 - $30 night or $6.50 / gal - both of which are high prices - but aircraft are expensive to operate). It is the gouging that Signature does that steams me. Flying will end as long as pirates like Signature keep doing business this way. Why a local airport will allow these folks to do their monopoly pricing is bizarre. If there were another choice, no one would do business with these folks.

From Daniel Wiley on 18-May-2008
Stayed the weekend in Hilton head, and even though we didn't have a jet, you could feel the highest level of service! Immediately after engine shutdown, a friendly line attendant who took my fuel order and offered his golf cart for transportation for our passengers and baggage greeted me. Inside the terminal, the desk clerks were nothing but efficient, helpful, and friendly - I was very impressed (especially with the weekend discount on 100LL!). Thank you for a wonderful experience - I wish that all FBO's were as good as this one.

From Rich Swortzel on 14-May-2008
$.50 / gallon discount on weekends. $10.00 / night tie down.

From Rich Scotto on 13-May-2008
I haven't even used Signature yet and I am already angry.... We are supposed to be flying to HXD the weekend of Memorial Day to meet childhood friends of my wife..... So my wife called Signature today to inquire about tie-downs and overnight fees and she was told that there is a one time $28 HANDLING FEE to tow your plane and tie it down!!!!! What is up with that? It's not bad enough that fuel is typically more expensive at Signature that other FBO's and that Carolina Air Center would never charge a ridiculous fee like that or that I can taxi my airplane anywhere on the ramp and tie it down myself for FREE!!!!! Simply AMAZING......I haven't even started the vacation yet and Signature has already blemished it..... Thank you!!!!!
