Stopped here Aug 2008. Airport is busy with jump planes and sky divers. Monitor traffic and CTAF carefully! No one tending the ramp, and ramp in poor condition. Self-parked, no chocks around. Went into office, no one around. Walked about 1.2 miles to great chinese buffet called Jumbo's. On return about 2 hours later, no one in or around the building, except another pilot looking for fuel. During this entire visit, did not encounter anyone associated with this FBO. Facility is plain, functional, but not clean or well-kept. I would not recommend this FBO or airport.

Nice people, service has always been very good for me, pilots lounge has a weathermation machine. No wireless Internet.

Flew into KHZL from KBKL on April 22nd while on an Angel Flight mission. I did not quite experience the fuzziness my fellow pilots did as stated below. Upon landing an older larger gentleman was just giving another pilot a verbal tongue lashing about parking in front of a fuel truck...Could have been handled better. When I asked the same gentleman about a briefing phone he abruptly pointed out there was a pay phone near the front door. The young man manning the desk was very polite, and assisted me with my needs. Hopefully he will be running operations at HZL some day! Good job young man!!! Will give another chance if a return mission is in the future

The service we received here was fantastic. The airport employee (owner, manager?) actually watched for our flight on Flightaware.com and came back to the airport to give us a ride to our hotel even though it was around 9 pm on a Sunday evening. We were very grateful. The Fairfield by Marriott is definitely the best place in town to stay. I was extremely impressed by the service received here.

Flew into town to drop my mom off and was greeted with open arms. Amid the snoring from the back room, some portly guy named Mickey gave her a ride to town to save on the cab fare. Gas prices a litle high but the side show worth every penny.

Landed at HZL recently and was treated very well by Mickey the line man. He was a real cream puff!. We fed him a few jelly donuts left over from the flight and he couldn't do enough for us! Thanks Mickey!

Stopped on the return flight from White Plains, NY due to severe weather. These people are truly a rarity. We were trying to wait out the cold front as it was passing and they left the building open hours passed their normal business hours so we could use the computers/phones for weather updates and stay dry. The wife slept on the couch while we waited and the airport manager offered me his home phone number in case we couldn't get out that night and needed transportation to a hotel. I would highly recommend this FBO. Thanks Mike!
