I stopped by today and was met promptly by Burt Loupe, the Airport Manager. Burt lent me his car to get a burger at the Diner, made sure I was comfortable with local terrain since I had to make a night departure, and even put a small heater on an extension cord to make sure my female passenger would have a comfortable cabin when she got back (temps were below freezing). Bert flies for a local company and did an excellent job of being a host. There's an AWOS and a GPS approach to runway 23 available. High nearby terrain: night or IMC departures should use runway 5 even though it is uphill.

Spent a few weeks working out of Campbell County. Very laid-back, personable operation. Bert and Kenny go out of their way to treat you like family. Thanks a bunch guys!! Hope I can get back someday. Fuel available 24/7.

Spent the last couple of weeks at Campbell County. Burt and Kenny are great guys and go out of their way to make you feel at home. I will go out of my way to stop here in the future. In regards to an earlier post, I found the airport easy to find...Just follow the freeway...And there are rock pits on both approaches to JAU. Fuel is self-serve and available 24/7.

Great FBO! Burt and Kenny are two great guys that go above and beyond for service, will continue to use KJAU when in the area.

Airport is hard to pick out in the ground clutter. Look for a quarry near the 23 approach end. Was unattended when I was there, about a month ago on a Tuesday evening.
