Parking was a bit confusing...No spots marked in front of the FBO, and no one answered the radio. The line guy showed up after 10 minutes and said it was ok to park out front, but gave me a hard time for driving my car on the ramp through the "airport's" open gate. He cited security concerns? I flew the plane in - not sure what the problem was? Other than that, fine airport with a smooth runway, lots of ramp space, good approaches and decent price for fuel.

Great service and fuel prices, which are announced on the AWOS. I've stopped several times as I have relatives in Raleigh, it has always been good.

Don't pass this FBO. Stopped in for fuel on Easter Monday. They have their fuel prices on the AWOS. Parked in front of the FBO. Guys were very friendly and the facility is excellent. Could have used a sweatshirt, but, I'll get one next time.

Stopped in on 4/4 in our RV-7A to visit some friends that live in the area. Called on UNICOM to confirm transient parking area and taxied my plane to the tie-down. Was asked on the radio if we needed fuel. Driver came over and fueled us while I unloaded and tied down. The transient tie-downs are a bit of a walk to the FBO and the driver put our bags into the fuel truck to drive them over for us. Fantastic service and good fuel prices made for a very pleasant visit. We will definitely be back!

I spoke with the airport's manager Rob Southerland about fees charged. The "landing fee" issue was quickly resolved and does not apply to piston aircraft. I learned from Rob that LHZ has been one of the few airports in our area not to charge any landing fees for commercial turbine aircraft transiting our region. The airport is surely justified in their actions to add these "customary and usual" fees. I understand that they canvassed other airports first and chose the lowest landing fees in use. LHZ appears to have the interests of both sport aviation and commercial aviation in mind, and they get my compliments for this, as the head of one of central NC's largest sport aviation organizations.

Pilots visiting KLHZ beware - Airport Authority has imposed landing fees! Local sport aviation organizations are looking into legality of this. Until then, be aware you may be assessed a fee just for touching down on this public-used facility.
Response from Rob Southerland, Airport Manager, Triangle North Executive Airport In regards to the comment made in reference to landing fees at KLHZ, the only landing fee that is in place is for any turbine aircraft that does not purchase fuel. There are no landing fees for GA aircraft.

Visited in my DA40 on 12/29/08. Friendly and inexpensive alternative to RDU's "near-Class B" craziness. I will gladly come back instead of RDU.

This is once again a great airport, and now that they are offering competitive fuel prices, I'll be by more often. Thanks for keeping fuel prices low!

Finally, KLHZ has a new manager and knows how to get things done. The FBO and airport grounds look great and the price of Avgas has come down...Super Job Guys.

Very friendly staff and facility nice. Stopped here due to great fuel prices. Remote GCO 135.075 did not work. Recommend calling 1-919-380-3125 for IFR initial clearance to ZEBUL intersection.

LHZ is a great stop. Nice facilities along with WX radar computer. However for me there was no quick turn around. I stopped going and returning from Georgia. I was unable to contact anyone on Unicom, three times, to request fuel both ways. When I went inside I found the Cowboy lineman playing on the Internet with the Unicom blaring in the background. Nice people but slow to action. I will return but with no expectation to a quick turn around. To be fare I have been there about a half dozen times and have better experiences.....

Stopped to see family at Raleigh. We were encouraged by the airport staff and manager to take the courtesy car instead of renting, as long as we would have the car back by closing time. What a wonderful place--inexpensive fuel, beautiful airport, nice facilities, 20 miles by car to the bypass around Raleigh, and friendly, helpful staff. I won't even think about going into RDU anymore.

Had a great experience at LHZ. I decided to tie down here instead of flying into RDU due to the cheaper fuel and relative close proximity to Raleigh. I had a major problem with Enterprise Rental Car however. I had previously reserved a rental from Enterprise two weeks ahead and called them prior to departing to ensure everything was OK. Well, after arriving and trying for one hour to call enterprise for the car delivery they promised with no answer, Rick at the FBO offered me their courtesy car to use for my three day trip into Raleigh. What hospitality! I stopped by Enterprise on my way to Raleigh and found out they were just too busy to answer the phone... So I ended up having to make another trip out to pick up the rental on the following day. I would highly recommend stopping at LHZ. They even waived the tie down cost for three days after buying 80 gallons of fuel. Great people!

Planned to fuel stop at LHZ enroute to MD because of great advertised fuel price but learned on arrival that the price had changed since I last checked AirNav. The staff honored the lower price. Can't ask for better customer service than that!
