Stopped in 6/11/2009, they were great. They have a courtesy car to use. Be careful though as they close early, call before you go.

Good place to stop - good fuel price and friendly folks. VFR flight following easy with Cannon AFB Approach.

This was a great fuel stop between Texas and Southern Colorado. Guys met us at the plane and helped with fueling. Cold water is free for pilots in the fridge. Runway and facility are all in excellent shape. I would recommend Portales as a nice easy in and out fuel stop with great gas prices.

I was westbound from Dallas to the Phoenix area and called on a Sunday morning to see if they were open. Got the voice mail, but flew in anyway. It was self-serve, easy to operate, and although the terminal had no people, it had clean rest rooms, drinks, and snacks.

The self-service fuel works well once you get the protective wind covering off the machine - it appears to be inop at first glance. The FBO building is open all hours and the facility is clean and user friendly.

Stopped in on 4/26 for a quick fuel stop on my way to Arkansas and also on my way back on 4/29. It was during business hours, so there were two friendly gentlemen who helped with refueling. For other times, fuel is self-serve and available 24hrs. There is a small but nice pilot lounge and computer available for weather. The town is about three miles away, and I was offered use of the crew car, but I was just there for gas. Overall a pleasant experience - I'll be back.
