An excellent fuel stop before you cross the border into New Mexico. 100LL at $4.85/gallon. Very nice crew car (with A/C!) and a great recommendation for lunch. Then, computer for weather briefing for the next leg. Highly recommended

Stopped on 30 June and 7 July 2008 heading east this was our first time stopping at KSJN. I can only say that all the good things said about this place are true! We stopped again heading west. Great friendly people. They came out to the airplane before I could get out and the fueling was done quickly. Made for a great stop with great prices and friendly, quick service and the office and bathrooms are just a wingspan away. We'll stop there again.

Nice positive that nice airport operators come out and fill your tanks.... Not self-serve. I topped off both coming and going from Phoenix to Dallas both directions over a weekend and met both "Gary's." Just a reminder to those of us from warmer climates, there was snow on the ground around the airport here in mid April and the morning temperature on arrival was 29F!

Got fuel on cross-country from Denver to San Diego (and also on the return flight). The price is excellent @ $3.55/gallon. Very friendly staff and prompt service. Let me use the truck to go get a hamburger in town. My 4 and 2 year old were running around the lobby spilling water and they were very understanding on having little kids needing to stretch. Must stop if you need a break and want good prices and service.

As usual, St. Johns was a great fuel stop. Very fast service and the best prices in the west for 100 LL. Their fuel hose must reach 200 feet so even if someone is parked next to the pump, they can get to you easily.

Arrived over an hour after they had closed at night. Lucky I had called ahead before departing and someone was there waiting to fuel me on my cc trip to the West coast. Nice people and the best fuel prices I have ever seen. Great stop. I'll be back in my B58.

A+ Great fuel stop! A friend had recommended this airport to me, so I gave it a shot. I arrived after hours and they had a crew car ready for me. After spending the evening in a hotel I returned to take fuel and take off. The service was excellent. I'm sure I will stop there again then next time I'm in that part of the country.

I regularly stop in at St. Johns to refuel my TBM 700 and I have to add to all the positive comments. This is a great fuel stop with A+ price and service. Everyone at the airport has always been super friendly, the facility is in good shape, and I always leave happy that I stopped in. The only thing lacking is a good restaurant. There is nothing on the field and the one in town is hardly worth the trip. I understand that Thursday is fly-in breakfast day for one of the local airparks. St Johns is highly recommended!

Stopped at St. Johns in our Malibu for a quick top-off on our way from Tahoe to Dallas. The two gentlemen running the fueling were very nice and helpful. One even shared his birthday cake with us. Previous user complained of dump trucks driving across the runway. Dump trucks were also present near runways when we were there, however, they were not a problem. I highly recommend St. Johns.

Wonderful and personable service. Worth flying out of your way to refuel here. Ask to waive the $1000.00 call out fee and they will do it every time. The place is a hoot and adds color to an already colorful area. A must stop place if you are passing through.

Often, when I am traveling near St. John I stop for fuel. Have always found it a friendly place. However, a week ago I was taking off on 14 and well into the takeoff roll a dump truck drove across the intersecting runway apparantly without looking. I was able to get into the air but barely. In forty years of flying that was the closest I have come to an accident. I hope the airport management will post a flagman to control construction vehicles in the future. I do not know if construction is ongoing, if so keep your eyes open.

I rang St. John's FBO to schedule an after-hours (8pm) fueling appointment over the weekend. Was told that too many pilots were doing the same and not turning up causing the manager not to accept these reservations in the future. I really appreciate the low prices at KSJN and hope there is a way to regain the trust of the exceptional staff at this FBO. I do most of my travel in the evenings from Phoenix to the Midwest and have always relied on KSJN for cheap fuel. I dislike the thought of having to find another fueling site after so many positive experiences there.

This is a great stop. Gary came out and fueled my airplane with a big smile. The folks are very friendly, love to talk about airplanes, and the fuel price was almost $2.00 less per gallon than I had just paid in California.

Thank you for providing such excellent service. The fuel price can't be beat. Airport manager lives next to FBO and is kindly available for call out. I'm sure a bit of advance notice is appreciated. This is NOT a self-service facility. Great cross country stop!

Stopped there yesterday and service was, as always, great. Did get a surprise in that the fuel was actually CHEAPER than advertised. I had read a comment from a Mr. Richards and watched as the fuel was pumped. When the operator turned on the pump, it automatically went to 0 on the gallons. When he was finished, the amount was within a gallon of what my gauges' indicated that I would need. I feel the personnel there wants' your business and are fair and friendly. I think it is one of the best places in the Arizona area to get fuel.

Saint Johns is a great place to get fuel, but spending the night is another story. The two motels are pretty dreary and the eating places open when they feel like it which is not on weekends. The airport crew is the best. The manager even fuel our 340 in a light snow storm with 20 degree weather and a 25 knot wind.

Filled tanks on 11-25-05 with no problem. Price was as posted on this website. Was offered and used a pick-up truck and went into town for lunch. All restaurants closed. On return stop on 11-27-05, approx. 4:30 PM, I had tanks filled again, however was charged for 117 gallons of 100LL(useable on this A/C is 123 Gallons). I expressed my disbelief, and based on travel times, fuel consumption, and fuel gauge indications when I landed, the tanks should take between 90 and 95 gallons. It was very cold and windy and my passengers and I rushed inside. Should have checked to see if the attendant had re-set the fuel pump as I firmly believe I was charged for much more fuel than I actually received. If you stop for fuel, be sure to confirm that the attendant re-sets the fuel pump to zero.

As an international ferry pilot I have been stopping at SJN for several years and hardly 2 times ever in the same aircraft. Where else in the world does the staff answer you by name when you call in in a strange aircraft? One of the most hospitable places in the world, with cars available [even after closing], good food at the El Camino Restaurant, and reasonable motel room prices, not to forget about the best avgas and Jet-A prices in the western USA. Keep up the good work!!
