Are we talking about the same company? I have had nothing but positive dealings with Pavco. Their dog is as friendly as a throw rug, and maybe about as old. I found no negative issues in my contacts with the owner. Pavco is as professional as any company I've dealt with. I used their examiner to finish my private checkride. My impression of the experience is that it was "by the book", as it should be. When I'm ready for my instrument check, I hope they'll be available.

I was very Upset after leaving Pavco. I had called the day before about fuel prices and was transferred to the owner and questioned for about five minutes. I was finally given a price of $2.59 for 100LL. $2.59? I asked again because no one has fuel prices close to that. The owner responded irritated and said, "That's what I said" I arrived the next day to find prices at $3.98! The owner clearly lied about fuel prices to get me there. I was treated bad when I was there and I would give that place an overall rating of a D- Please do yourself a favor and avoid Pavco

Allow me please to clear up some extremely mean-spirited and false information about "Buck" the Pavco dog. True he is large but anyone who frequents Pavco knows that this dog is almost never off of his leash. He is always with his owner, either in the owners’ private office or closed in the private lounge. My small children pet, hug and lay on this dog that is as gentle as he is large. As for the owner of Pavco Flight Center, if he has difficulty hearing you it's because his hearing has been compromised during the 20 years he spent serving his country in the United States Airforce. Yes, you may find him gruff but those of us, who strive to know him better, know what a truly nice man he is. By the way you will not find an FBO on this airport that has been here longer and I challenge you to find an individual who knows more about aviation than the owner of Pavco, Mike Pickett. Got a question about aviation? Ask him anything; I think you'll be glad you did!

Ditto all the other comments, this place should be avoided if possible.

Though the owner may be past his prime, there are two wonderful instructors at PAVCO. They are Jennifer and Dave. Dave is also a DPE. Both are fun to fly with... Whether it involves a checkout in a new Cessna 172SP or float flying in the amphibious 182 and 206. Depending on the time of day, if you taxi into the ramp, a line guy will direct you in and ask if you need anything. If you don't expect much, you'll be more in for a surprise. I know many have their complaints, but I've personally enjoyed working with the above instructors and building flight time in the new 172's as well as float flying. I do recommend the latter to all interested in float training or just some fun float flying. Sadly, insurance rates are too steep to rent the floatplanes, so you must fly with an instructor. -Safe Flying-

I came down and visited my uncle for a week and we did a lot of flying out of this airport in just a short amount of time. We always fueled with PAVCO and I strongly disagree with all the negative comments. PAVCO has been very helpful and always ready to help and they also have a pretty desent selection of pilot supplies. They have speedy service and when you pull up ready to fuel, you have lineman waiting for you (not you waiting for the lineman)so don't let all that negative feedback affect your decision to fly-in. As far as I seen, my uncle and I never had any problem with PAVCO. Plus, you don't want to miss the excitement landing on 35 on the cliff over the harbor!! DO YOU???
