My wife and I diverted to our filed alternate recently on an IFR flight to Tunica. We landed just ahead of a front which brought high winds and heavy rain. The lineman, David, having seen our diversion to KTUP on FlightAware, guessed correctly we would need shelter for the plane and left the hangar door open. He pushed our Bonanza into the hangar just as the wind and rain arrived. We were hosted inside by a gracious lady named Marsh. We stayed four hours and were made to feel very welcome in their excellent facility. There was no charge for the service even though we bought no fuel. Great job, and THANK YOU! I highly recommend this FBO. They will be getting business from me in the future.

Had a chance to stop at the full service FBO. Nice people and nice lounge. They offered a courtesy car, but I passed. If you want service, stop here - if you want cheap fuel and a nice place to stretch out - visit the self serve pump on the north end of the field! Fuel there was $3.75 on 09/09/09.

First class service went out their way to be helpful. No fees, loaned me the courtesy car and I was near full on fuel when I arrived, so didn't purchase any. I'll be back.

I make this stop every trip back and forth from Texas. Unfortunately I've never tried the FBO as the self serve location on the north end of the airport it OVER THE TOP! Nice shower and rest room area with comfortable chairs inside and rockers on the porch outside! Computer also available. Kitchen with a fridge and coffee maker. This place is open 24 hours and is a great stop for any time, day or night. Did I mention the great fuel prices?

The self-serve island on the north side of the field was great. The small building housing the facilities was great. Easy to get in and easy to get out. Great controllers as well. Would stop again.

Beautiful self-serve facility and pilot lounge on the north side of the field! Equal to the best I have seen anywhere.

Stopped by last week for a fuel diversion (and a break from the bumps). Nice field towered (but really slow for a towered field...At least the day we were there). Very friendly FBO and staff with a comfortable lounge, a TV to keep the passengers happy and a computer to do flight planning. Fuel price was about what you'd expect for a smaller towered field -- not outstanding, but competitive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend TUP as a good fuel stop if you're looking for somewhere with some facilities and a well equipped FBO without the big city FBO prices. Plus it was a quick IFR in/out (albeit on a VMC day).

This has been my favorite self-serve fuel stop for several years, due to price and amenities. However, appears it is now run (or owned) by TUP Aviation, the full-service FBO, no longer the city, and their fuel price has suffered. Current Self Serve price ($3.69) $1+ higher than other facilities along my TX-TN route. (I paid $2.65 FS at KRNC, TN, and $2.19 SS, at 4F2 in TX on 1/1/09- - places that were usually similar to TUP, in price). I hope Tupelo Aviation will re-think their SS fuel pricing.
Response from Terry Anderson, Executive Director, Tupelo Aviation Unlimited The self-service operation at Tupelo is completely run by the Tupelo Airport Authority. The price had changed to 3.25 on December 30th. Due to an operator error, our AirNav site was not updated. Inventory cost and volume of use have a lot to do with the sale price. We sincerely apologize if there was any inconvenience. Tupelo prides itself on running an operation for the aviator and hopes to continue our well-established record of service and hospitality.

Great self-service fuel and pilot facility at the north end of the field. Coffee available and honor bar for soda and snacks. Internet access and very large, comfortable sitting area. This place was great for us as it allowed our 2 year old to run some energy off. The only thing missing that would make the facility perfect would be a TV!

We stopped at this FBO both ways on our trip, and it was well worth the stop. A relatively new, pilot facility is at the north end of the airport, somewhat isolated but easy to find. It is where the self-serve island (good price) and a great building is nearby with all you need inside. There were no FBO folks at the facility, as I suspect they were at the major area, but it was clean, had everything you could need and exceptionally comfortable. One suggestion would be to place a visible sign on the building indicating that it is for customers.

This is the nicest self-serve FBO on the planet. THE model for everyone else to follow. Why, because a lot of TRUST is assumed toward pilots. Trust well deserved. Take care of this place.

Good stop at night for cheap fuel. Pump is well lighted and easy to use. Runway and taxiway surfaces recently repaved and smooth. Yellow taxi lines not repainted yet turning off the runway- be careful at night. SS Island has building w lots of drinks and snacks- as well as online computer access. They have done a great job with this Self Service Island at the North end of the field. Paid $3.80 for fuel.

Great SS and flt planning building on the north end of the field. We'll be back - but only after the construction is done - the drop-offs between pavement surfaces are significant, esp for a/c with low wheel pants.

Third or fourth stop at TUP for SS fuel over last three years. The SS terminal is still the nicest I have found--clean, nice rest rooms, computer wx, and goodies for purchase on the honor system. Fuel facility worked as advertised.

Used the self-serve for a fuel stop on 9/19/08. Very good price. The pilot facility near the self-serve pump is outstanding. This nearly new facility has extra clean restrooms, computer with high-speed Internet, honor system snacks and soft drinks plus a living room type rest area. The runway was being repaved during my stop. A great stop.

Stopped here for fuel based on previous comments and was not disappointed. The SS pump is at the north end of the field and has a nice air-conditioned house with clean bathrooms and showers. Snacks and cold drinks on the honor system. Great place for my family to cool off on a hot summer day while I refueled the plane. There was another Cessna refueling when I arrived, and, at first glance it looked like there wasn’t enough clearance to taxi by and pull up behind, but there is plenty of room to get by. Highly recommend this stop!

Stopped unexpectedly at TUP due to weather. It was 9 p.M. And they were looking to go home, but they arranged a hotel room, hangared the plane, loaned me a crew car for the night, and did everything else they could do to be helpful. First class service can be found here. Thanks, guys!

Stopped into Tupelo on 03/20/2008 at 0100, called for after-hours service and Reid Dawe was out and fueling with the FBO fully opened up in less than 15 minutes. Passengers & their 1 y/o relaxed for about 20 minutes in the pilot lounge watching TV while I prepped for the next leg. Reid even stood out on the cold & windy ramp to shoot the breeze while I performed pre-flight. By far the best service I've received at such an hour. Thanks Reid!

Stopped in for fuel on 12-27-07. Self serve pump worked great, and the flow rate was VERY fast! What a great pilot lounge adjacent, with refreshments and supplies on the honor system. This is a 1st rate GA facility! Places like this are what make the GA world more fun and rewarding. This is how all-small GA airports should be.

First class operation. Arrived at dusk. Lineman (Daniel) met us and moved the plane to a tie-down after we unloaded our evening cargo. Gave us the crew car for the evening and recommended Eli's BBQ near the hotel. Plane was fueled and ready to go 1st thing in the morning. I'll stop again if in the area.

November 23, 2007 my wife and I flew into TUP as we usually do for our stop from Florida to St. Louis. The facility on the North end of the field is a self-service pump. Last time we stopped in the city was in process of building a pilot lounge adjacent to the pumps. The lounge is now complete and is first class with self serve snack food, drinks, oil, local maps, a computer with internet, showers, restrooms, and a crew car. While there are no attendants, there is a tie-down stop in case you want to wander into town. Hats off to this first class airport facility. Bonus... The fuel prices are as low as I have seen them anywhere.

I stopped in at Tupelo for fuel, and I was very pleased with the service. Two linemen met my airplane, chocked it, and started washing the windshield. What a nice touch! I got a volume discount for buying as much 100LL as I did. Very pleasant experience. I would certainly return when in the area.

I spent the night of 25th Sept. 2007 in TUP and found the service and hospitality to be outstanding. Upon our arrival they arranged our rooms, loaned us their courtesy car, recommended a great restaurant and gave us good directions to find the hotel. I highly recommend that you plan a stop in TUP and enjoy the great service of Tupelo Aviation Unlimited if you are ever in the area.

My wife and I flew into KTUP for a meeting. The facility on the north end of the field with the lounge, conference area, restrooms, shower, etc was jaw-dropping. We fueled at the self-serve, and used the facilities (including $.50 snacks and drinks), borrowed a serviceable (I.E. It had air conditioning!!) Crew car I.E. It had air conditioning!!) From Tupelo Aviation (a hospitable group). It was 100+ degrees, but a really cool place for a quick turn or an extended visit. No sign of Elvis this trip.

The self-service area at the north end of the field is fantastic. Self service pumps, with their own little terminal just 50 yards away. Great place for a quick self serve fuel stop, with no need to taxi back to the full service part of the field for restrooms, flight planning, sodas or snacks.

I flew in to TUP on 04-09-07 and had planned on leaving but due to passengers stayed the night. The folks at Southernaire were top notch. They loaned me a car and gave me directions to a hotel. They really make you feel like they want you there. Jet fuel is reasonable also. Keep up the good work.
