Flew in for lunch on 3/11/07. Very friendly staff at the FBO. The town is an easy 30-minute walk away, and the FBO does have two loaner bicycles that were already in use. So we walked. Had a tasty burger at the Burger Depot, and there were plenty of other restaurants within walking distance.

Extremely friendly FBO with low cost fuel. FBO is in the process of moving from Chevron to Exxon fuel. Their signage has changed to Exxon, but the marking on pumps remain Chevron. Be aware Chevron cards will no longer work so bring another card with you. Free loaner bikes are available for ride into town and there might be a crew car available if you ask nicely. Winds pick up in the afternoon so approach and departure over mountains can be bumpy. The air over lake is smoother so if you need to spiral up to gain altitude it's a good place to start. Nearby Burger Depot have fantastic burgers and friendly staff. Indoor seating ambiance includes railroad memorabilia and a model engine and railcars traveling along the ceiling. A great place for kids! Outdoor seating is also available to enjoy the nice summer weather. This is a great destination!

Nice airport, friendly FBO and least expensive fuel around. Wind permitting, 34 is normally used for landings and 16 for takeoffs (note over water approach/departure). Short & flat bike ride into the town of Chester on the free loaner bikes.
