Nice airport...Transient parking is Mid-Field (in the grass) next to the SS pumps. The building at the south end of the field is owned by a not so nice guy who seems to get upset with folks who are not familiar with the layout of the field. I called ahead and figured this out. The transient line guys met me with a "follow me" mini van and put me in a nice dry grass tiedown spot (Thx!). Landing fee was a reasonable $5.00. I didn't get gas. Unfortunately no rental car or taxi service is readily available so ground transportation requires friends. Ground access is also a bit confusing. Road leading into the transient area is not marked and kinda looks like your driving into a junkyard.

Went to Hummel with my aviation mentor. Areas around field and rivers are beautiful. We had great fall colors as well. Field is short and narrow. Can't see field at all approaching from the east side due to tree line but it is right at the foot of the bridge area. Pilot House Inn is a little dated but food was really good and service was quite friendly. Did not use FBO services except for Unicom wind and landing advisory, which we got promptly.

Stopped for the night on the way to NY from FL. FBO closed when we arrived and when we left the next day. Self-serve fuel on west side of field was 4.95. We parked on the grass near our motel room. Room was pretty much what you'd expect for $59.95. Highly recommend Echards (across the street) for dinner. A fun strip to land on with beautiful views of the area.

Stopped in for lunch at the buffet short walk off the field, good food and service. Filled up with 100LL at $4.15 a gallon, great price for today and great service at the pump from Nicole.

Great people very helpful and gracious. I have only great things to say about the airport manager and mechanic.

Cheap fuel, friendly service, short strip, hotel on field, fine dining across the road. What's to not like? We'll be back when we have a chance!

Great little airport. Two sources of fuel, the town pumps mid field and the FBO/Flight School. Friendly folks and cheap gas.

What, no comments since 2005. En route from Charlotte, NC area to Toms River, NJ. Good fuel price and Kristin was very helpful. Nearby restaurant, The Pilot House was convenient with good prices but simple menu.
