One of the best FBO's I have visited in Florida. Very easy from start to finish - fueling, parking, rental car, and departure. Went to the Homestead Indy Car race this weekend - expected the airport to be quiet when leaving so late at night. No - the staff was waiting because they had several planes leaving late night (around midnight) and they wanted to make sure everyone was all set. Fantastic service - beyond expectations. One word of caution - a midnight departure off of 27 is a very dark departure for VFR. May want to use 36 or 9 and use the lights of Miami as a reference point until you've trimmed at cruising altitude.

Friendly people. No hangars so bring your canvas cover, because it gets windy and rainy here. Lots of training activity. Great place to park your plane, stay in Homestead, and go diving in the Keys. It's about 20 minutes from airport into Homestead. Another 30 minutes to Key Largo from Homestead. Local Enterprise office can deliver a car to the airport and pick it up, all with very little hassle. (Don't call the national call center because they cannot arrange deliveries to X51.)

A group of RV's spent the night there, prepared to launch the next morning for the Grand Turks, got fuel, rental cars and motel. Could not have been treated better.

Roberts Air was a little difficult to locate on field. They're just south of the numbers for runway 27, no sign. And the fuel tanks are behind a hangar, kinda tough to see unless you know they're there. Agree with other comments. Good Mom & Pop operation, John & Gloria Roberts. $5 parking per day, one day free with fuel purchase. Enterprise had car waiting as requested, good way to start a vacation.

Rental car ready upon arrival in our Skylane. Needed no fuel so parked at the Dade County Aviation Dept. Terminal. Nice clean facility with a $5 per diem tie down fee. Homestead is an excellent place to start Everglades trip.

Friendly Mom & Pop outfit. In years past the self-serve fuel was very competitively priced. Now one of the highest in the area.

My sons and I landed at X51 on our way to Key Largo for some diving and Thanks to Mr. Roberts and his grand daughter our arrival, transition to rental car, fueling and departure were accomplished in record time. I will come back and will recommend Roberts Air to anyone flying into South Florida.

Make sure you include Homestead on your flights through South Florida. John Roberts runs and excellent FBO and is a heck of a gentleman to boot. We stopped in for fuel coming back from the Keys and enjoyed meeting John and the great fuel prices.

Landed at X51 Dec. 26/04. Self-serve fuel price as advertised on AirNav. Rental car was waiting, tie-down spot available. One night free with fuel. Very friendly people, was a pleasure to stay at Robert's Airsouth.

My first visit to X51. I was there to attend a CAP meeting. Gas price was best in S. FL. Mr. Roberts and his wife are very friendly, no tie down fees as long as you buy gas. Who wouldn't at that price? Good stop for anyone.

Cheapest fuel in South Florida. Friendly owners. John Roberts is an excellent mechanic and has the best rate in the area.

From Thomas Walsh on 03-Jan-2004
Landed here on the 23rd of December to get fuel when it started raining very hard, so I decieded to wait by the pump 'till it stopped. Then a chopper N470WM hovered 20' off my nose as if waiting to get fuel, so I figure he's in a hurry and move out of the way to let him fuel up, but he parks in front of the pump and waits for the rain to stop all the while he can see that I am waiting for him to finish, so if you see this guy extend whatever courtesy you think is appropriate, you can guess what mine will be. The fuel as mentioned is the cheapest around souhern Florida at 2.25 Self Serve, no weather, the mechanic will let you use his phone for weather. Good stop to re-fuel on the way to the keys, if you know the wx is going to be good.
