I had to fly one of our mechanics to Eastland to work on a piece of our machinery in our MU2. I am a corporate pilot and fly everything from a C172 to a Challenger jet. This is by far one of the best FBO's I have ever been to. They are working on repaving their ramp, and the FBO is fantastic. Bode was waiting to meet me by the pumps to fuel my plane. Then he pushed us back beside the hangar to where we would be in the shade and try to keep the plane a little bit cooler since it was 104°. He also let us borrow one of the crew cars to run into town and grab a bite to eat. Definitely a great place for a fuel stop or if you happen to need to visit Eastland Texas.

Eastland is a regular stop for me, on a pipeline patrol. Was introduced to this great little airport, and have been a committed regular, because of the great service and camaraderie. I recommend with the highest regard, this wonderful location, with all the amenities and local services. Bodie and his original USMC tug, will take great care of your plane, and you will leave feeling welcomed.

I’m a commercial pilot and I’ve been to FBOs at large, medium and small airports and have received service ranging from nonexistent to top of the line. Having said that I don’t know that I have ever, in 30 years of aviating, experienced the great service offered by Bode. He was waiting for me when I landed, helped me get my passengers to their waiting ride and then pushed my plane into the hangar even though I hadn’t requested a hangar. (He said it would keep it cool and out of the sun and weather overnight.) Understand that I wasn’t flying a King Air or some big turbine powered craft. I was in an A36 Bonanza. After getting the aircraft stowed away, I asked Bode if he had any suggestions on places to eat. He was ready with suggestions and paper maps and presented me with the keys to a crew car. When it came time to depart the next day, Bode pulled the plane out, got it fueled and then pushed it BACK in the hangar to keep it cool while I waited for passengers. I don’t know if the good folks at Eastland know what kind of top notch ambassador they have greeting those like me who visited that city for the first time but he’s what we call in the Mid-South a “keeper”. Without a doubt FBO operations around the country should send their folks to KETN to see how one person sets a standard that all FBOs should strive for. I don’t know if business will take me back to that area but if so, I’ll make it a point to stop by just for another taste of the Texas brand of “Southern Hospitality”!
