Great experience at Houlton! First off, the pattern. Yes, depending on the runway the pattern might take you slightly into Canada, but they don't mind. This airport is RIGHT on the border. Last stop on I-95 before the crossing. They have a good price on self-serve gas, super nice and friendly airport manager (Alan), 24-hour access to the pilot lounge/restrooms, crew car, and transient hangar space (in a HUGE WWII hangar that you can taxi right into!). A local car dealership (York's) will drop off/pick up rental cars right at the airport. What more could you ask for? Great experience!

We arrived for the eclipse and you would think we were the only arrivals! Treated wonderfully, and driven to town as there is no taxi or ride share in Houlton. Hotel, Ivey’s, drove us back the next morning for departure. Oh, did I mention they hangared my bonanza? Great experience, flat out fine people.
