Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport is the city's first airport and it is still one of the busiest. Dedicated by Charles Lindbergh in 1927, the Downtown Airport is just across the Missouri River from Kansas City's business center. Airport users have easy access to the metropolitan area and it is an ideal refueling stop for air travelers going cross country.

Prior permission is required for aircraft over 35 passengers, which the FBO can help in obtaining.

Amendment to my comment from a couple of weeks ago. Signature reversed the transaction on my credit card that charged me for an Angel Flight drop-off.

One of the few FBOs I've been to that charges Angel Flights a full charge for dropping off passengers. Paid $38 for patient and spouse to get back to their car. Fuel is almost double the price of the City self-serve terminal ($10 vs. $5-rounded in May 2024) Nice facility, but marshalling was slow and took customer service over 5 minutes to figure out how much to charge me. Agent told me, 'I was *lucky*; used to be over $50). I didn't feel 'lucky'.
