It isn't too often that we pilots arrive at a large FBO and are treated like royalty, but that has been my experience at Sheltair at Melbourne. Upon arrival on the ramp, I was marshalled into position and three line workers jumped into action securing my Mooney. I was dropping my wife off for an overnight visit with a friend, so I didn't need any services. When approaching the desk to check-in, I didn't know what to expect in terms of fees and was prepared for the worst. Imagine my surprise when the woman behind the desk (Ashleigh) said there was nothing due and then offered me bottles of water. When was the last time any of us experienced that? I went on my way and came back the next day, to the same arrival experience. Again, Ashleigh told me that nothing was due and asked if there was anything Sheltair could do for me. In a world of impersonal, high cost FBO's, it's refreshing to know that there are still big named corporations that cater to the little guy.

These folks were exceptional. Rental car arrangements were a breeze, location is perfect, and everyone was there to make sure our flight was their priority. Really good crew.
