I am no longer based at this airport and my son and I stopped by to refuel and to pick up a friend's gyro. We decided to grab lunch and my son, who is an experienced pilot and finalizing his commercial license, went to get the car. Without bothering to check his age, Barb (airport manager) came out to tell him that he was not old enough to use the car and that it was not working. My fellow gyro pilots and I have been having increasing problems with this manager making it clear that she does not want transient aviation business, and we now make it a point to go elsewhere. This is a great airport with very nice facilities and plenty of restaurants around. They need to get an airport manager who understands customer service and wants business.

I have been flying and stopping here for years, and finally thought to leave a review. Barb (Airport Manager) works very hard to keep this airport is great shape. They have one of the nicest pilot lounges with plush recliners, TV, snacks, sodas, water, freeze pops, etc. The fuel is not expensive and is available 24/7 with credit card, and they also have trucks for jets, larger aircraft and the occasional B17 and B25 Bombers. Greg G voluntarily keeps the FBO stocked with chips, candy, soda, etc, and they have 2 courtesy cars to use for any of the wide variety of restaurants nearby. They have a 4000-foot runway and are located in a nice flat floodplain by the scenic Mississippi without any obstacles nearby. Definitely one of my favorite airports to visit!

Very nice airport, clean FBO with a very trusting attitude to purchase things like snacks, oil and even free pop cycles and bottled water. My only complaint is the speed of the 100LL pump, I used pump 1 and it was very slow compared to other Airport pumps.

We stopped in on Saturday 30 July flying home from Oshkosh. Although, unattended because it was a weekend, the FBO had left free soft drinks, ice cream, and courtesy car. I had called earlier in the week and Barbara recommended the Park-Et restaurant. We went there and had a wonderful country breakfast. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Convenient stop to/from Oshkosh. Complimentary drinks and snacks for the Oshkosh pilots. We had to stop overnight due to weather on the way home. 2 courtesy cars available. Perryville is a nice small town and Mary Janes Burgers and Brew restaurant was just right!
