Enjoy stopping at Jean. Was on my way back from Arizona to California and have some free time to enjoy flying and a little quick gambling. So I directed my plane to Goffs VOR then to Jean. Touched down, and walked to the Gold Strike. Played a few games for a couple of hours and back in the air I was to Los Angeles.

What a time we had! After we tied our plane down (no tie down fee), we walked to FBO/Skydive Shop/Restroom building, picked up the hotel courtesy phone, and a driver was there in 45 seconds. Hungry and thirsty from our 2 hour journey from Long Beach, CA, we sat down to the $8 all you can eat buffet. My motto is usually "If you can’t see the ocean, don't order the fish, " but after I saw the king crab legs and fresh drawn butter along side the prime rib...... To make a long story short, we went to bed at our hotel, The Gold Strike Hotel, @ 3 in the morning. We woke up at 11, went to the $6 all you can eat breakfast buffet, wrote down our flight plan and checked the weather. We took the walking path to our plane, loaded it up, taxied to the fuel station, filled it up with the cheapest fuel in town ($3.85), and then flew back to Long Beach. If you ever want to do a quick, turn-around, "Vegas Run" but want to miss the crowds (and pay less), Jean is a great alternative.

Self-serve fuel. No oil. No FBO per-se. The jump school is busy doing its own thing and not there to serve transient aircraft. Restrooms and vending machine on North side of the building appear to be open even when rest of building is locked up. Gold Strike hotel a bit of a walk if it's hot.

Great place to stop. Hotel, restrooms, and restaurants are close by (in hotel). Land with enough gas to make it into North Las Vegas (VGT) because the hose in the self-service at times is jammed and unusable. This has happened to me twice.

Easy approach, inexpensive fuel, and a clean restroom make Jean a great stop.

We were in Jean on 4-13-06. A great gas and potty stop. The fuel prices are the lowest in the area and the ease of flying in and out of the area makes this our quick stop every time we are in need of fuel in the Vegas Area.

To all pilots who use self service fuel stations are well informed of the fact that a 500.00 temp fee is cheap and comes off your card in 7 to 10 days on the norm. I am glad that Jean has fuel and enjoy all of my stops there. Happy Flying.

We landed in Jean for a comfort stop and topped off the fuel. Purchased $65.00 worth of fuel and my credit card was nicked for a $500.00 temp. I will bypass Jean on my future flights.

Jean Airport is a very nice place to stop for fuel and get a bite to eat. My fiancee and I have enjoyed this airport many times. Fun flying.

Stopped for fuel on 11/06/2005 at around 4:00pm. Nice airport but bring your own oil. I needed a quart and asked at the jump school (The only thing open there at the time) if they sold oil. The kid behind the counter asked me how much money I had. He sold me a quart of his bosses oil for $5. What a place he wanted $100 to start with!!!

My wife and I landed at Jean for a weekend away from the kids. The airport was a nice place to land and keep out of the busy vegas airspace. Transportation was a little difficult, no shuttle or reasonable taxi to Prim. The people at the Gold Strike were about as friendly as a den of Rattle Snakes, I would not recommend staying there based on my contact with their staff.
