On 01June08 landed Piper Archer. Saw no line crew so parked in front of Signature entrance to drop off wife with luggage. Inside was blessed out for 1) not calling on 129.0 10 min before arrival, and 2) parking in front of entrance. 100LL was quoted at $8.10/gl. Declined top off and had to pay $28 stopping fee in addition to $30 landing fee. Popcorn machine empty. Be advised.

For $7.55 / gal plus the ramp fees, their not having free water or soda like other Signature FBO's made it seem like an overcharge. Very few amenities.

Under the heading of "You Get What You Pay For": Flew in for a baseball game in a BE36. Cost $100: $50 for the 7 gallons of fuel, $30 landing fee and $18 parking fee. $28 handling fee waived with fuel purchase (the deal to take at Signatures, IMO). Service was good; van driver brought us to the light rail and even walked us to the ticket machine and got us going in the right direction.

Visited on 5/15/08. Signature is the only FBO at BWI. They were extremely helpful. Provided a crew car for use for the day. (Available first come first serve). Arrived early AM so one was available. If they didn't, they would give me a ride. Had a minor problem with the aircraft when landed. Helpful with coordinating with the maintenance facility next to the FBO (No affiliation). Maintenance facility was very prompt and able to fix my problem but there price was a bit high, (but not extremely), I guess that's expected at this type of airport. FBO price was a bit high, but that's to be expected at a Class B big airport. If going to BWI, and using the FBO, for security reasons, you must give them a heads up at least 10 min prior to landing (UNICOM 129.0), and once you land. Also not required, they said as a courtesy to call a day before. You MUST be escorted from and to your aircraft. All in all, nice facility, and nice people and all very helpful. Would use again and would recommend

Signature's fees seem to vary depending on aircraft size. For a Bonanza (and, I assume, any single-engine aircraft) I was quoted a $30 landing fee, $12 parking (up to 24 hrs) and a $28 handling fee, which would be waived with a 7-gallon fuel purchase (at $7.80/gal). Big-city fees to be sure, but not exactly criminal...

Because I didn't purchase fuel at close to $7.80 a gallon, I chose to pay the $360 no fuel purchase and landing fee. The woman behind the counter took my card and was multitasking doing about three other things at the same time. I signed the bill. She put down the receipt and said, "There you go!" and continued to go on with whatever else she was doing. I stood there for about a minute and then I asked her if I even get simple thank you. Her response? "You're welcome!" I then asked, "No, mama, do I, the customer, get a thank you?" She slowly responded "Oh, thank you!" and walked away. What am I paying $360 for? For a belligerent woman to treat a customer like that? I had better service at the DMV last time I was there. At least the DMV people were friendly. Next time, I'm going to Signature's competition on the field. Oops, how silly of me. I forgot. There is no competition.

Flew in last week in a light twin for the day...Left $108 poorer with nothing to show for it. I didn't take any services, but even if I did, they require a 30 gal. Fuel purchase ($220.20, which I didn't have room for anyway) to waive the $65 handling fee, and you'd still be stuck with a $35 landing fee and $8 ramp fee on top of the outrageous gas bill. And I thought $38 at IAD was bad enough... Other than the fees, Signature is a nice FBO, at a relatively easy airport to get in and out of for a GA aircraft IFR, and they were making huge omelets and hash browns for donations to Kids of the World before 10AM...That was pretty good.

I stopped overnight at BWI on 01/24. The Signature staff did a great job. My rental car was ready and everyone was eager to help. You have to expect the cost to be a little higher at the class B airports.

Poor service and $7+/gallon fuel, enough said. A MUCH better alternative is KMTN-Martin State Airport, which is less congested, FAR less expensive and more convenient to downtown. Signature staff are rude and unhelpful while being totally unapologetic about their highway robbery of corporate fliers.

I had a social function in Baltimore on 11/4. Called Tipton to get a sense of what my ground transportation options would be into Baltimore. Enterprise is closed on Sunday so all I would have had was a $50 (each way) cab ride. Went into BWI, had them put in 10 gal of avgas to waive the $27 handling fee, took a crew car, a brand new Ford Fusion & drove to my party. When I returned the total tab was $102 including the landing and parking fees my 10 gal of fuel and of course, the car. Not a bad deal, all things considered. Line did NOT escort me to the FBO when I arrived despite a call from 15 minutes out and three calls from the ramp but THEY are the ones to deal with the TSA if the rules are violated. I've been using BWI for 12 years and even though landing fees have gone up, Signature is still a good deal if you need ground transportation for a few hours.

Fly in quite often hauling freight. Can't walk on the ramp without an escort, which is difficult to get since I don't fly a shiny jet. Line Staff is always friendly, though the counter personnel could use a lesson in manners. Main bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Lounge heads are much better. 2 1/2 Stars.

Stopped by Signature at BWI twice in the past couple of days. Service was excellent and expensive. Such is life. The lineman was very helpful in moving wife, two toddlers and myself over to the main terminal (4 bags, stroller, car seats, etc.) I often wonder why people gripe so much about Signature's prices. I think they are a reasonable deal if you fly a piston aircraft. Everything's expensive, but you just have to purchase 7 gallons of gas to waive the handling fee, which seems reasonable to me.

From Dave Touretzky on 19-Jul-2007
Signature's monopoly prices are outrageous: a $60 "ramp fee" for a light twin, parking cost extra, and avgas was $7/gallon. Prices are much better at Dulles; Landmark Aviation doesn't gouge you the way Signature does.

Stopped off at BWI June 10, 2007 to drop off a passenger and get avgas. Landing fee added $15. Handling charge of $27 was reduced to zero with fuel purchase. Everyone nice, it's a classy place for executive jets. You expect to pay more at a class B airport, and BWI is as expected.

I flew into BWI on an angel flight. I was treated very well, and given a parking place right next to the FBO. A wheel chair and attendant were waiting, after I had requested this service about 30 miles out by calling on the ARINC frequency. The landing and parking fees were waived - a big contrast to my experience on an angel flight into PHL.

From Robert Singer on 24-Apr-2007
I flew into Signature. Great service and a beautiful facility. I paid $5.94 with a $0.50 discount on an Angel Flight. Ramp and landing fees were waived. Even with all those discounts this is a very expensive place. Except for the high fuel costs, KBWI is a great Class B airport for GA. They have a separate "small" (5, 000 X 150) runway, 15L-33R for GA that keeps us out of the jet flow and makes taxiing to Signature easy. Controllers are very accommodating. I flew IFR, which makes it easy to navigate through the ADIZ.

We paid the facility charge then saved almost $3 per gallon on 2000 gallons of JET A by flying 10 minutes over to ESN.

From Mike Stephenson on 13-Apr-2006
4/12/06 The fueler was very friendly as he loaded seven gallons of avgas into my flight school's Katana very late this evening, and the gentleman working behind the desk was also very nice and professional.
