I have been stopping here for several years and the City has finally let Chandler Air Service take over the FBO operations. What a difference from the "could not care less" attitude of the city operation. Someone actually met me at the plane, showed me where to park, offered a ride and asked if I need any help. Thanks Chandler Air Service for the first real FBO type service I have received at this airport in 10 years.

Great school, great FBO, great folks.

Self service surprises. Of course the first order is ground the aircraft. After looking and searching for someone to ask, I found the grounding clamp inside a cabinet, which looks like it is locked. Next surprise was a manual pump on switch after fuel did not flow and encoder looked like it wanted another transaction also watch the birds. Upon landing encountered a flock 100+ small birds departing their rest/nest north side the 4L runway. Fortunately no visible strikes.

I recently added a stand-alone FAA license to my UK PPL through Chandler Air Service. Though it's a busy school and they do train aggressively, both the folks behind the desk and the instructors I dealt with were professional and supportive. In addition to staff, the completeness of facilities at Chandler is a big plus. Having a testing center on-site means written exams can be accomplished at your convenience and with the associated FBO it was never a problem to have the airplane fuelled and ready to go on short notice. Finally having a DE associated with the school means Chandler can provide a full end-to-end experience and is particularly suited to achieving ratings as quickly and efficiently as possible. Overall a very satisfactory experience.

I have been flying into Chandler from Austin, TX in my Bonanza for years and I always use Chandler Air Service. I first used their services in 1999 when I received spin training from Curt Langenhorst. I had modification work done on my S-2B along with an annual back in 2004 and everything was first class and reasonably priced. I have NEVER had a bad or even unpleasant experience with this FBO. They are a first class and highly professional operation.

It says that they train aggressively they sure mean it. I am English, I explained that whilst I had flown in the US before it was not recently, and that I had only flown twice this year. I was surprised to not be offered a pre-flight briefing. I was more surprised by the adversarial attitude of the instructor. I did not fly well on the first attempt and arranged a second slot, assuming that it was down to my "rust". No post-flight de-brief either, and my questions were cut short as the instructor had another flight. Day 2, the instructor arrived 20 minutes late, and when asked for help barked at me could I read. After he barked at me twice more before reaching 500' I decided that the personality conflict between us rendered the flight unsafe so terminated after one circuit. The instructor was very unpleasant after I told him that I felt we had a personality conflict, and when I mentioned it at the desk no alternate was offered, so I decided to seek rental elsewhere.

Had a great experience. Flew in and Controllers directed us all the way to Transient parking. Walked over to the Chandler Air Service hangar and a Mechanic gave me a card and called the main desk for me. Since I was leaving in the afternoon and wanted fuel just before departure they said to call when I was coming back to the airport and they'd take care of it. Called from the parking lot on my way back and the truck met me at the plane. Very nice and courteous fuelers topped us off quickly and asked if there was anything else they could do then sent us on our way. Thanks for the great service.

During a fuel stop I noticed a student and instructor moving a rental Cherokee into a tie-down spot by pushing on the stabilator (a moving control surface) and steering the nose wheel by pulling on the rudder. Reminded me why I didn't put my plane on lease-back.
