It says that they train aggressively they sure mean it. I am English, I explained that whilst I had flown in the US before it was not recently, and that I had only flown twice this year. I was surprised to not be offered a pre-flight briefing. I was more surprised by the adversarial attitude of the instructor. I did not fly well on the first attempt and arranged a second slot, assuming that it was down to my "rust". No post-flight de-brief either, and my questions were cut short as the instructor had another flight. Day 2, the instructor arrived 20 minutes late, and when asked for help barked at me could I read. After he barked at me twice more before reaching 500' I decided that the personality conflict between us rendered the flight unsafe so terminated after one circuit. The instructor was very unpleasant after I told him that I felt we had a personality conflict, and when I mentioned it at the desk no alternate was offered, so I decided to seek rental elsewhere.

Had a great experience. Flew in and Controllers directed us all the way to Transient parking. Walked over to the Chandler Air Service hangar and a Mechanic gave me a card and called the main desk for me. Since I was leaving in the afternoon and wanted fuel just before departure they said to call when I was coming back to the airport and they'd take care of it. Called from the parking lot on my way back and the truck met me at the plane. Very nice and courteous fuelers topped us off quickly and asked if there was anything else they could do then sent us on our way. Thanks for the great service.

During a fuel stop I noticed a student and instructor moving a rental Cherokee into a tie-down spot by pushing on the stabilator (a moving control surface) and steering the nose wheel by pulling on the rudder. Reminded me why I didn't put my plane on lease-back.

Flew into KCHD on Tuesday from DAL. Our plan was to arrive after hours Monday and I had arranged with Chandler Air Service to meet us so that we could pickup our rental car. After picking our way around convective activity & stopping in ELP for fuel, we arrived in the early hrs of Tues morning. I called from ELP and informed them of our additional delay. Despite our delay, both John and Diane came to the FBO to meet us so we could get our rental car and make our morning appointment in PHX. I offered repeatedly to pay a call out fee but they would not accept. When we returned about 15 hrs later, our P-210 was parked in a convenient location and their line service personnel assisted with our luggage and catering. We purchased 89 gals of full service fuel, which was dispensed promptly and at a very reasonable price. They also have self service pumps which are convenience and even less costly. After this kind of service, this will be our ONLY CHOICE in the Tempe/Phx area. Thanks again John & Diane!

Brought my son (12) over from England for a birthday treat. John Walkup and the whole Chandler team gave him the best day of his life. Some ground school theory, an excellent intro in the Warrior and to cap it all, an extremely well thought out aerobatics flight in the Great Lakes. John ensured Tom was fully aware of what was happening, there was no pressure and the severity of the maneouvers developed at just the right pace to ensure Tom remained confident throughout. The accumulated years of experience at Chandler shone through. Highly recommended! (ex military Sea Harrier and now British Airways Captain)

We flew a TBM 700 into Chandler for a meeting at Intel. The folk's at Chandler Air Service picked us up at the plane and took us to the rental car that we had reserved through Enterprise. They were extremely prompt, helpful and polite even though we didn't need fuel. I would recommend calling ahead just to make sure that they know you are coming. Chandler has a huge amount of traffic due to the numerous flight school's so beware. The controller's handled everything beautifully. I'll make sure to buy fuel next time!

I just got home from doing my BFR with Greg Stafford. This is an instructor who isn't looking to "build time" for a Major. He just retired from another job, and THIS is his passion. Teaching, Instructing. As he says, " living the dream". Plus the Plane/Instructor rates are cheaper then SDL!!!

If you have the choice of another airport for your business needs use it. There is extensive flight training taking place off of this field, and the FBO services reflect this. They seem to have no enthusiasm for the corporate business. Chandler Air service consists of 3 or 4 buildings, so be prepared to walk, because no one comes to assit. All the FBO's close at 5PM and they will not assist with rental cars. Nor will the rental agencies drop a vehicle off for you.

The fuel price was as advertised, but be prepared to pay an overnight/parking fee whether or not you purchase fuel as they are collected by the Airport Authority. From $8.00 for a single to $21.00 for a turbine. This may offset any savings you were expecting on the fuel purchase. After being directed to G.A. parking by ground, it took us about 15 minutes after walking to 3 different buildings to find their office and our rental car, which we made the arrangements for because they would not. If you arrive after 5:00PM, their closing time, you may not be able to get your rental car until the next day if you have not made specific arrangements.

Note that CAS now has a self-serve pump (avgas only) as well as truck service. Their self-serve pump is approximately 1/4 mile east of the tower in front of the big green hangar (2 big white tanks). This is different from the avgas pumps that the city provides, which are just west of the tower. The CAS pump cardlock works with MC/Visa fine, but doesn't accept AmEx, do be prepared.
