Be advised that Flightstar no longer sells approach plates or A/FDs. They have a limited stock of sectionals. They were out of Chicago and St Louis tonight (Yes, the charts that cover central Illinois).

I stopped in Champaign on a flight from Chicago to visit the U of I campus, and my experience could not have been better. The line guy was out before we even called ground on our way in, we had a wonderful crew car within a five minutes, and the $10 handling fee (piston single, waived with fuel purchase) was more than generous considering the comfort and luxury of the facility which is furnished with weather briefing stations and plenty of room to relax.

During my stay, CMI was in the midst of a week long icestorm. I called on the morning of our scheduled departure to request that the aircraft be put in a heated hangar to remove the ice coating. The CSR informed me that the aircraft was put in a hangar several days ago in anticipation of our scheduled departure! When we arrived at Flightstar, a shuttle brought us to the hangar where we loaded our bags and preflighted out of the weather. Great FBO, customer service is one of Flightstars highest priorities and it shows. I look forward to a return trip to CMI.

First class operation. Everyone and I mean everyone seem to go out of their way to make our stop super nice. Even a new crew car...

Stopped in for fuel on the way to Oshkosh. Very nice facilities with pleasant staff. An all-around nice stop for a cross-country journey to AirVenture.

Excellent service, WiFi available, pleasant terminal.

I landed on Easter one of the coldest days in April before I could ask they had my car at my plane warmed and ready to go. When I returned a couple of days later my plane was not on the ramp, there was some strong winds and heavy rain on the previous day and they took the liberty to place it safely inside a hangar. Outstanding service, super friendly staff AA++

I've flown into Champaign many times, for lunch and just a stop over. The ground crews are very friendly and the facilities are simply amazing. One of the best FBO's I've been to. They do charge a $15 handling fee, but the fuel is also quit expensive so it's a trade off. Very nice crew facilities, very nice store, courtesy cars are clean and very nice. A+

I agree with previous comments that the service at Flightstar is first rate. We landed in low instrument conditions in a cold drizzle. Immediately met by two linemen, one carrying two umbrellas. Similarly upon leaving we were escorted to the plane so that we could preflight and board and give our umbrellas back to them. Yes, the fuel price is high. But they really do take care of you.

This may be the nicest FBO I have been to while flying general aviation. Yes, their fuel is pretty pricey. But, if you want A-1 accommodations, this is the place to go. On top of excellent pilot facilities, they offered a brand new Dodge Magnum to use as a crew car. I will be back.

I stopped for fuel on the way home from Bristol TN. Very nice FBO and very friendly staff. Fuel is on the high side but overall a good experience.

From Justin Morgan on 22-Aug-2006
Came to CMI on my way from Kansas to Maine, and the FBO was top-notch. They stayed 30 minutes late for me, had a hotel ready for me when I landed, and the hotel shuttle was there less than 5 minutes after I landed. Very good FBO, will come here again!!

From Robert May on 19-May-2006
Flightstar makes flying into Champaign a pleasurable experience. They have 3 nice crew cars and a great facility. On my last visit I intended to leave just about their closing time but ran late. Arrived 5 minutes before closing, got a (bad news!) weather briefing from FSS, decided to stay. Jenny at the desk was great! She booked a hotel, arranged the hotel shuttle, and stayed an extra 25 minutes until the shuttle arrived. The fuel is a bit high but the service is outstanding!

From Kyle Raymer on 09-May-2006
I stopped in for some lunch. Fuel is a bit expensive; I went ahead and paid the ramp fee. Very nice FBO. Nice people. However, they will charge near 200 dollars on the weekend if you need a mechanic. I had a slight problem, but the people working there helped me out by calling the mechanic for free.

Stopped in at Flightstar at KCMI last week during a visit to U of I. What can I say; this is one of the most impressive FBO's I've ever seen! Friendly service, clean, spacious, and inviting facility, and every amenity you could ask for. They have a very well stocked pilot shop, flight planning room, several computers with internet access, a lounge, free popcorn, coffee, and cookies, and very clean restrooms with mouthwash, shaving cream, etc. They also are more than willing to provide a crew car for a quick trip into town.

From Dean Williams on 23-Feb-2006
Service date 2/20/06. Very clean, attractive, modern facility, with efficient and attentive staff. I called ahead and they had a courtesy car waiting for us which was brand new. They had a $10 "Handling fee", waived with fuel purchase of 10 gallons or more (which I didn't need). Fuel price was high but they are the only source at KCMI for non University of Illnois pilots.

From Erik Suter on 23-Aug-2005
Flightstar was about as expensive as I've seen with the fuel, but all other fees were waived with the gas purchase. Very prompt and courteous - carried all of our bags and offered the crew car for lunch. Beautiful FBO - you get what you pay for.

From Jeff Mackey on 17-Jul-2005
I hate high fuel prices, disdain for those who charge them, Flightstar is one of those high $$$ FBOs. I do usually purchase some fuel and stop somewhere else to top off on the way home to Tennessee. TO THEIR CREDIT, this is probably one of the best FBO's I have been to date (although it will never compete with, say, KMGR in my opinion), but it is definitely above average. For this airborne computer tech, I like the internet access and well stocked flight planning area. Overall, I give this FBO a B+
