About Cutter Aviation
Founded in 1928, Cutter Aviation is America's oldest continually family-owned FBO and aviation service company. In operation for over 80 years, Cutter Aviation operates at eight major airports in the Southwestern United States. Cutter locations in Arizona (Deer Valley and Phoenix Sky Harbor), New Mexico (Albuquerque) and Texas (Dallas Executive, McKinney, El Paso and San Antonio) and Colorado (Colorado Springs) provide a wide range of services to transient and based aircraft including fuel and FBO service, maintenance, avionics, new and pre-owned aircraft sales and charter and aircraft management.

The Phoenix, Deer Valley, Albuquerque, and Dallas Executive facilities are full-service, fixed-base operations, with El Paso, McKinney and Colorado Springs providing line services for transient aircraft. San Antonio provides new and pre-owned aircraft sales as well as maintenance.

Looking Back
Continuously family-owned for eight decades, the company originated as Cutter Flying Service Inc., in Albuquerque. William P. Cutter envisioned a business that would serve the fledgling aviation community - and the resulting enterprise exceeded his expectations. The company survived the Great Depression, and, at the outbreak of World War II, became major pilot training facility for the military. In 1947, the company began its long-standing affiliation with Beech Aircraft Corporation. Since that time, the Cutter name became, and continues to be, synonymous with major and emerging aircraft brands ranging from piston singles to light and medium turbine aircraft.

Looking Ahead
Over the years, Cutter has maintained a position of leadership in the general aviation community by consistently expanding its services and its locations. Cutter Aviation, Inc., opened its Phoenix operation in 1959. The El Paso facility opened in 1982, Deer Valley followed in 1997, San Antonio in 1998, Dallas in 2002, and McKinney and Colorado Springs in 2006. Cutter remains strong due to an unwavering commitment to customer service, customer and employee satisfaction, and business practices rooted in our core values of respect, trust and integrity.

Company President Will Cutter reinforces this: "These are key ingredients to a formula that has kept us at the forefront of the industry. They have helped us establish a reputation that we are all proud of. Our values have served us well for eighty years, and without them, Cutter would be just another run-of-the-mill service station for airplanes."

Cutter provides timely and professional services. DVT based aircraft have special fuel price. 1 penny more than the lowest gas card price of self-serve pump. I'm located on the south side of the field so I happily take advantage of this and thank them for being so reasonable. I always ask for the special price just in case.

Great experience at Deer Valley Cutter this weekend. Line guys were great, both on arrival and on departure. Took care of our bags, gave us a ride to/from the terminal, were helpful with local info and nice to boot! The lady inside was very pleasant too. All around great experience.

Cutter absolutely rocked. Upon arrival, was treated well and sent on my way in waiting rent-a-car. Even more so, upon departure, after finding that I had accidentally left my master switch on, they saw to it that a mechanic came out for a jump. Given it was a late afternoon Friday and the guy just as easily could have been on is way home (for the same pay), I was very grateful for Cutter and its service. I highly recommend them.

Wow, what a difference on my weekday trip to Cutter! A wonderful experience this time. Lineman Max greeted me on arrival and was one of the most friendly and professional I've had the pleasure to meet. Inside, Mike was extra helpful and extra friendly, and even recognized my name from my ten years on the radio in the morning at KOOL-FM Phoenix. Julie kept her smile behind the desk as always. And this time, when I asked for a 7.30AM departure the next morning, I was fueled as requested and up front on the ramp on my arrival. Polished pros all the way, and I'll definitely choose Cutter again.

Flew into KDVT on a transcontinental flight in my Skyhawk on March 3rd. Immediately 3 linemen came running out. Helped with tiedown and unpacking the plane. Asked if I needed a rental car and within minutes they drove one out to the plane for the luggage. The front desk staff and management were equally helpful and courteous. Helped me find a nice hotel in Prescott. Printed out directions for me. Arranged an oil change with their maintenance staff, which was done without a hitch. Overall one of the best FBO's I've ever encountered.

Mike and Miguel at Cutter Aviation were especially resourceful when we were at DVT for a Mooney gathering recently. Thanks for the friendliness and great service.

After ten hours of flying on the Hobbs it was the end of a long day and Cutter made it much easier. They booked our hotel, shuttled us over there, and gave us a little run down on the area. There were high winds and they had the plane tied tightly. It was fueled and ready to go in the morning and they offered to bring my ten year old out to the plane under an umbrella, since there was a light rain. We will return.

From Phil Corman on 19-Apr-2009
Cutter Aviation is a FIRST CLASS operation. We had a Mooney fly-in and they treated us royally. This is the FBO to use at DVT.

From Roger Miller on 10-Apr-2009
Very nice people. Helpful and courteous. This was one of the better FBO's I've been to...

From WD Lewis on 28-Mar-2009
I always stop at Cutter whenever I fly into DVT in my 182. Nice people and good service. I noticed this last trip their fuel price was not updated on AirNav. It was listed as more expensive than Atlantic. I knew that wasn't going to happen and sure enough it was less. I'll continue to be a regular there!

I've been to Cutter twice in the past month. Service has always been exemplary. Julie and Connie have been friendly and helpful at all times. Fuel prices not bad and no ramp fee with fuel purchase. On the last visit, I had a stuck starter Bendix that I couldn't get to go back in. Brian and Mike took care of it in short order. No charge. Wouldn't even let me buy them a beer. I will always go to Cutter. Although there's cheaper fuel on the field, IMHO it's worth it to patronize these fine guys and gals.

I've used Cutter at KDVT for more than 2 years. Crew is always friendly and provides superb service. Special requests are handled easily and attention to detail is evident. Very responsive and helpful. One of the best FBO's I've encountered. Professional service whether you're a Cessna single or a Citation II.

Ladies at the counter were both very nice, but line service left something to be desired...Not as sharp as Cutter ABQ, ELP, or PHX. Here at DVT, I asked on arrival Friday, how to get our aircraft pulled up front for a 7AM Sunday departure and was told "It's already noted. You'll be brought up front." I called to reconfirm on Sunday morning, but on arrival, it still wasn't brought up and we all "hoofed it" to "the East ramp, " although thankfully our luggage was brought over by line service. Also, when I asked about the "weekend fuel discount, " I was told that it's "on the north ramp only." Cutter is on the south ramp by the way.

From Jon Nevin on 06-Jul-2008
Very friendly staff. No complaints at all with this FBO. Will return

From Tom Bernard on 05-Jun-2008
Great service and very friendly. They take good care of their customers. I'll be back.

From Chris Fowler on 16-Apr-2008
Just returned from 2 nights in Deer Valley. Cutter took great care of me - no overnight ramp fee with 35 gals of fuel. Cart service to and from the FBO - nice people.

From Dan Wyson on 05-Mar-2008
Spent four days tied at Deer Valley while at a conference. Very nice FBO. My rental car was waiting and the plane was fueled when I returned. Connie was very helpful and the fuel price reasonable. I was not charged a ramp or overnight fee with my 60 gallons for my 182. Be careful of multiple balloons just Northwest of the airport.

From Kent Magnuson on 16-Feb-2008
A 'just right' kind of FBO. All you expect. Good service, friendly people, Internet access, rental cars...

From Ted Louis Glenn on 22-Dec-2007
Flew into Deer Valley earlier this week for the day and parked at Cutter. They gave me a ride to my event that was nearby and picked me up later. They topped-off the plane and there were no other charges. They have wireless internet inside. I was happy with how I was treated.

From David Gorrell on 24-Nov-2007
Stopped at DVT over Thanksgiving weekend. I used Westwind (Atlantic) Aviation since their fuel price was $1 less than Cutter. Linemen at Westwind were very efficient and professional. Great service - we'll be back.

From Steve Pratt on 30-Sep-2007
Up until recently, I have been in and out of Cutter DVT for years. It seems the last few months that decreasing level of service hasn't kept up with the ever-increasing cost. It's understandable that they have a fueling contract with the local flight school (Pan Am) and they are a primary customer. If you need fuel, make sure to call one hour in advance or be prepared for the wait. As for maintenance, that's out of the question if you own anything other than a Beechcraft or Piper. Anything more than 15 years old is also part of this exclusion. For a company that has been "a leader in aviation for 70 years" it’s a wonder what is keeping them going. Most importantly, what will keep them going for the next?

I recently lost my spinner while flying at night over Lake Pleasant and made a precautionary landing at Deer Valley. Even though it was well after 9PM the two A&P's that were getting ready to close up at the Cutter hangar not only loaned me a few basic tools but actually pitched in with helping me remove the "residual spinner parts" and check things out for damage. After all was said and done, they not only didn't charge me, but even refused some "beer money". This was above and beyond the call of duty and got me back to my home base in Glendale by midnight when I could have been stuck for hours trying to find tools or, at worst, a taxi ride home. A great bunch of employees and "good flyin people"!!
