I often ask if the locals know 'how lucky they are' when I visit a place like Shelby. The airport is well maintained with lots of GA activity. The terminal has everything that the traveler needs on a cross-country stopover and is one of the best maintained inside and out. But what makes a good airport is the people and this is a very good airport.

Flying home from Oshkosh I diverted to KEET due to very bad weather. The people there could not have been better. They got me a hotel reservation for the night, a local hangar tenant drove me to the hotel and the wonderful woman behind the desk picked me up the next day and brought me to the airport. Since the airplane is registered in Brazil and still has the Brazilian tail number, it generated a lot of awesome hangar talk. This is a gem of an airport and one I would be back without hesitation. THANKS everyone!
