I am based out of GYY because I want to be here. It is a great place with great staff. They are right there with fuel of with MX assistance. I have many other choices in the surrounding area. I can also say it is safe, and clean and well staffed. I have a small private airplane, but big fancy biz jets are here day in and day out and with good reason. It's about a 30 min cab ride to the heart of downtown Chicago.

This place is great. Easy in/out of Chicago area from the south without a lot of vectoring. Friendly desk and line service; 100LL is much cheaper than MDW or PWK. I rented a car for my 3-day stay which was painless with Enterprise. Commute in to Chicago locations is reasonably fast on the Skyway and I-94. Have your wallet out for the tolls.

Stopped at Gary for a trip into Chicago for 2 days. Very convenient. Adrian did a great job getting the train schedule faxed to me in advance and having a cab ready for us to take into the city. Cab was $75 flat into Chicago; train was $5.50 each ticket and took about the same time but only goes every two hours. Definitely the way to go if you get in at a convenient time and are leaving at the right time. The office staff was great. The line crew was ok. Overall, the service was a 9 out of 10, and would have been a 10 if the line staff when we came back to depart was more responsive. I would definitely go back to Gary as I think this was a fluke based on the air show going on that weekend and the many planes on the ramp. Otherwise a perfect experience, thanks to the great staff.

Visited Gary this past weekend and parked at Gary Jet Center to return to a gun shot hole in my airplane! Pilot owners beware. Line service comment, "We see spent ammo on the ground all the time and heard something Saturday but stayed inside- you now this is Gary" After asking for police and airport staff to be called we waited about 2 hours for anyone to come file a report. NO police came, no airport staff and Jet Center was helpless. Tower was the only helpful person on the field when we departed I reported to them. Chicago Center called me to verify as well. Calling FAA and TSA next to see about report. City operations called, denies any wild west shooting on the airport and said FBO incorrect. Hum-I have a hole to have fixed.
Response from Lynn Eplawy, Managing Partner, Gary Jet Center As Managing Partner of GJC, I'd like to respond to Mr. Rogers, as his comment is not entirely true or fair. In our 20-year history, we have NEVER seen spent ammo on the ground or in an aircraft. Upon interviewing all employees involved with Mr. Rogers on 7/5/09 not one of them ever said anything like the comment he quoted us as saying. It is FALSE. GYY is one of the safest airports in the US, and we take offense to imply that it is not. I also argue that our staff was not "helpless". We called the Gary PD, drove around airport to find GYY personnel (this was Sun pm of July 4th holiday), and called our mx staff to assist in getting aluminum tape. Mr. Roger's frustration with GJC is that we did not contact the airport staff on their cell phones in order for them to come fill out a report. We have since informed line staff to contact airport staff at any time. I have apologized to Mr. Rogers for his wait, and to explain that we disagree with his accusations of being "helpless" and unsafe.

A model FBO! Line service excellent, fuel prices excellent, very comfortable crew rest area and plenty of computers and Internet available with printer. I will definitely be back in our MU2.

Stopped in on the way home from North Carolina due to fuel prices advertised on AirNav. The prices were as advertised and 'Guaranteed' and the service was perfect. Normally I fly all the way around Class B space to get to one of the airports on the north side before I go home to PWK (most expensive fuel in the area by a long ways). I will stop here more often when coming home from the south. The line crew was great (they prioritized us ahead of another single engine when they found out we were in a hurry and the other pilot as looking for a courtesy car). In and out in very short order. Only issue was they did not know the baseball schedules for the Sox or the Cubs which impact how far from shore I have to fly. An issue easily resolved with their free Internet service!

I had a business trip to Chicago, so flew to Gary on 5/10/09. Their prices were much better than Midway and there is public transportation to downtown Chicago, saving me car rental and parking. The good folks at Gary were kind enough to take me to the train station (free) as well as pick me up. When a storm went through during my one-week stay, they put my plane in a hangar to protect it from possible injury--also free. If I ever need to visit Chicago again, this is where I'll land--very nice people.

I am a frequent customer. It is always a pleasure to stop in. The Gary Jet Center is top notch in all respects. More than once counter people or ramp folks have gone out of their way to assist...Like giving me a ride some where in a personal car when the ramp crew car was unavailable.

I had a very pleasant experience at GYY. I chose it over midway for a weekend visit. The airport is uncomplicated and simple to fly in and out. Fuel was competitive and there were no fees. The jet center arranged for a town car into Chicago, which was on the tarmac as we arrived. It cost $115 plus tip for the 35-40 minute ride. The tower even called me well before takeoff to notify me of a change to my flight plan. All in all a stressless experience!

The staff was friendly and let me use the courtesy car and sit around watching their TV, even though' I only stopped to wait out IFR weather. Check out the great roast beef shop in town!

We were at the Jet Center over the weekend. They were most hospitable, taking us to and from the train station and keeping us on the ramp at no charge. They even put the plane in a hangar when a tornado threatened. Only took 34 gal of gas. Great service.

Great choice when visiting Chicago. Very friendly staff. Owner drove me to the train station just 3 minutes away. The south Shore train is very convenient way to downtown. Fuel prices reasonable and I paid no ramp fees for a 3-day stay.

Stayed overnight and GYY. Staff was very good to deal with. Did not take the train into Chicago and regretted it - the traffic on the interstate was awful.

I flew in my Seneca V – N134BB from Virginia. I selected GYY for my recent Chicago trip to avoid departure delays at MDW. Great service! Just watch out for the rental car terms.. They rented me a car with 100-mile limit, which is not enough if driving to Chicago for meetings.

Great FBO. Great service. I give them a 10 +!!! An oasis in the middle of Gary. Wish they would get a new rental car operation to service them. Hertz is not good. Car was filthy and smelled. Tried for a week to get someone at Hertz to answer the phone regarding an invoice with no luck.

The service and attitude on a recent stop were so bad I'll fly far out of my way to avoid Gary. The rental car was filthy, counter service poor, and all around it was a very bad experience. They didn't fuel the plane as ordered, so I left without fuel and stopped elsewhere. When I returned two pilots were sitting in the lounge and said they hadn't seen anyone at the counter for 30 minutes. That's how bad it was! Goodbye Gary.

Gary Jet Center offered me outstanding service during my recent stay. They were friendly, prompt and helpful in arranging my hotel and to top it off, reasonably priced fuel. This is the way to go when visiting the Chicago area.
