Spent a few nights on the ramp, while preparing to leave on Monday morning, was unable to find anyone to fuel the airplane (C208B Grand Caravan) with self serve not being a fun option in the big girl, we decided to head elsewhere for fuel. Though we could not get in, the facilities looked very nice from the outside, and the ramp was more than accommodating for my big bird, we left it out in front all weekend with no comments or concerns!
Response from Timothy D. Fousse, Director of Public Works and Aviation Foster, Sorry we missed you. After hours full service JetA fuel is available at no additional charge - 24 hours - we just need a heads-up call to be sure we can provide the services you require. We staff the airport offices Monday through Friday, 8:00am through 5:00pm - but we may all be out on the property at any given time. The building can be accessed 24 hours a day - just follow the directions on the front door for after hours access. We hope you will consider visiting Hondo again in the future. Thanks again for using our airport. Timothy D. Fousse - Director Public Works and Aviation 2009 Texas General Aviation Airport of the Year

During my recent business trip I arrived after hours and refueled at their new fueling facility (cheap prices). I found the facilities: new, clean, and well maintained. This includes restroom and showers. We tied down under covered parking for 2 nights. While preparing for departure the airport manager and staff were very accommodating. We will definitely use HDO in the future.

WOWOW.... What an improvement and I was blown away! This airport is FULL BUSINESS now. Keep up good work.
Response from Timothy D. Fousse, Director of Public Works and Aviation, Hondo Municipal Airpor Ted and Michael, Thanks you for posting the great comments about our airport and the new terminal building on AIRNAV. Here at Hondo we truly understand what a pilot wants and needs and we will do our best to meet or exceed your expectations. We now have a fully equipped conference room available at no charge and of course very comfortable recliners in the pilots lounge. We will strive to keep our fuel prices as low as possible while meeting the financial needs of the airport. Please feel free to stop in and say hi while visiting and we will gladly give you the "nickel tour"

Stopped by here Thursday for a look -see. Great stop. Fuel is well priced and they are almost complete with a new terminal building. It looks really nice. The Flight Line Cafe will come get you and take you a short 5 min to town for a great meal and bring you back... If you are in the area this is a great field to stop at. New Fuel pumps, new building, and nice folks
Response from Timothy Fousse, Dir. of Public Works and Aviation, Hondo Municipal Airport Rick, Thanks for stopping in and it was a pleasure to meet you. As you stated, our new terminal building is nearly ready to open. We are have a Grand Opening Ceremony on Friday, Oct 24 at 1:00pm and then a fly-in house warming on Saturday Oct. 25 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. On Saturday we will have free food and drinks, door prizes and we will be rolling our fuel prices back to 2005 levels - about $3.00 per gallon. Best fuel prices around and, as others have mentioned, the equipment in very good condition (although some heavy-duty chocks at the fuel farm would be a nice addition). My stop for Self-Serve Jet-A turned into Sorta-Self-Serve when airport staffer Esa stopped over to give me a hand. Highly recommended stop.
Response from Timothy D. Fousse - Director of Public Works and Aviation Brian thanks for the positive comments. We truly appreciate everyone that stops in for fuel, whether it is 5 gallons or 500!! And you can bet we will have those chocks on hand the next time you arrive. We look forward to our new terminal building being completed, and are planning a "huge party" to celebrate this event on October 24 and 25. We hope everyone will join us.

Stopped for fuel. Lowest prices I have seen anywhere lately. Fuel pumps are new and run like a well-made clock. Nowhere to flight plan or use the restroom, but you can't beat it for fueling up if you are local, I.E. A South Texas resident.

Excellent self service for 100LL. Very clean and well organized with a great price also. The Flightline Cafe is now not near the airport so as a food stop, go somewhere else.
Response from Timothy D. Fousse, Airport Manager, Hondo Municipal Airport Thank you both for the kind comments regarding our airport. The temporary terminal building is located just 200 feet north of the pumps with a restroom and phone available. We are breaking ground on our new 4000 sq. ft. terminal building in April, with a completion date of early October. It will have all the things a pilot needs to flight plan as well as take a break. The Flightline Cafe is located .8 miles from the airport and if you call from the airport, they will pick you up and bring you back to the airport at no charge. We will do our very best to keep our fuel prices as low as possible. The more pilots that buy from us, the easier it gets. Again, Thanks for Flying Hondo and using AIRNAV to post your comments.

Stopped in on 27 Feb 2008 on the way to KSAT, several folks hanging out surveying the area for the new terminal (Oct 2008). Received numerous waves, they really showed their appreciation for us being there (thank you, nice plane, thanks for buying fuel etc.). Fuel the cheapest I've seen. Only a few minutes from KSAT would suggest it for anyone wanting to save money on fuel when in the San Antonio area.

Stopped for fuel 12 November. Great prices for the area on 100LL. Fuel pumps were top notch. Can't wait for the new terminal to break ground. Good luck Tim!

An outstanding self-fueling facility. Brand new tanks and delivery system for 100LL and Jet-A. Everything you could ask for is provided at this fueling center. Funnel for oil, APU cable, brand new fueling nozzles, ground cables and hoses. Squeaky-clean. Several long and wide runways. Unbeatable fuel price on the day I flew in. Great job Hondo!! Made me love GA in the midst of high prices and the threat of user fees.
Response from Timothy D. Fousse, Airport Manager, Hondo Municipal Airport Michael, thanks for the kind words and praise for our airport and aircraft-refueling center. Our vision for the Hondo Municipal Airport is to make it the best General Aviation Airport in Texas. To accomplish this, we are just finishing the final design for our new 3,850 square foot terminal building. We hope to have it completed by September 15, 2008. We also just received a $7.7 million AIP grant to rehabilitate our main runway, so keep looking for our continued improvements. Again, thanks for flying and buying at Hondo. Fly Safe!!

We attended the EAA Regional airshow last week here at Hondo. Excellent job by all parties! Great vendors, food, volunteers to make the experience very enjoyable. The Shell fuel providers said that they will have fuel available at the field starting later this month (if it's not already online). Thanks for the great experience and service!
Response from Timothy D. Fousse, Airport Manager, Hondo Municipal Airport Our two new 12,000-gallon fuel tanks are scheduled to be delivered on August 22 and should be fully operational by August 31. We will have self-service 100LL and JetA and continue to offer full service JetA as well. We will take all major credit cards as well as Shell. We look forward to meeting you here at Hondo.
