Stopped in for fuel on the 26th, price was $4.85 a gallon. Great service, sorry I didn't have time to tour the Piper Museum. I'll definitely be back.

On August 14th on a bucket list trip from Texas to Maine with a lot of stops in between, I had to make LVH a stop to see the birthplace of my 1976 Super Cub. These folks took great care of my plane, and me getting me to a hotel, the Piper museum plus a lot more. They even picked me up at the hotel 2 hrs before they opened to help me get on the road. Thank you Ed and Doug!

Response from Ed Watson, Airport Manager, William T. Piper Memorial Airport
Thanks to all for the positive comments. We strive to make your visit to the birthplace of Piper Aircraft a memorable one! Be sure to visit the Piper Aviation Museum again soon as they just got a donated Comanche 400!! That's right folks, the 8 cylinder, 400 HP Piper hot rod and is it a beautiful aircraft. Special thanks to Jim and Janet Fisher for this incredible gift to the Piper Aviation Museum!!

A PALS link flight utilized the airport as a transition point. Ed Watson could not have done more for us (flying a Piper Geronimo built at KLHV in 1959) or for our patient passengers. His willingness to take them downtown for lunch during their brief interlude between flights was beyond the call of duty. His graciousness is beyond belief. Everyone should stop in to experience real down home hospitality. A shout out to Ray also who covers when Ed is not there. A truly nice person.

Management: THANK YOU for your 24/7/365 pilot lounge/rest area! We arrived early and the FBO was closed. It was sure nice to be able to use that room and restroom for our FOUR SHIP FORMATION including women and children. It made a world of a difference for our comfort until the manager arrived promptly at 1000 on a Saturday. THANK YOU. Little things like this make Lock Haven a destination of choice for pilots!

Flew into WT Piper airport in our Comanche from Bangor, Maine for a fuel stop and to visit the Piper museum. Excellent museum of the Piper line and the Cub heritage. Turned out this was the week that the Cub reunion was taking place. About 30 cubs were parked and camped in the grass with more to come. Excellent service getting gas and I think our '63 Comanche 250 was also a big hit for the folks with a camera.

Visited for the first time because I had one customer in town and was surprised to see that this was the home of Taylor Aircraft which later became Piper Aircraft and built nearly 27, 000 airplanes there before they moved. It has a Piper museum on site and a Piper Cub weekend in the fall that is a really big deal. There was no rental car so Ed at the FBO put a note on the desk and delivered me to my customer 8 miles away and even came back and got me two hours later to come back to the airport. And was the most pleasant guide telling me about the town and it's history and also the Piper history there. A very pleasant experience. One of those moments that makes aviation enjoyable. And good fuel price too.

Flew in on a sleepy Friday in April for a visit to the Piper Museum. Treated well starting with a prompt response to my request for airport advisories from 15 mi out (a rarity these days!). Ed, the manager met me, fueled my Archer and gave me a ride to the museum, even letting me in and rousting the one staff member on duty (It was Good Friday and some staff were off). Very friendly and helpful. Lunch at the Village Tavern (10 min walk from museum) was delicious. Piper Museum highly recommended for aviation enthusiasts for a couple of hours' visit. Not so much for young kids though. Ed invited me back for the pancake breakfast (May 7th, 2017 8-12) and of course their big Sentimental Journey fly-in (June 20-24 2017). Watch the hills on approach, and note Right Traffic for 27. This airport will make a perfect stop when Oshkosh-bound from the East coast.

Ed Watson and all of the folks at Piper Memorial Airport are fantastic and will go out of their way to accommodate you in every way possible, whether it be a ride to get lunch, visit the museum, fuel, tie-down, or any request you may have. Sentimental Journey and the pancake breakfasts are my favorite events, orchestrated to perfection. I love every visit that I make to KLHV; Thank you Ed, Ray, Doug, Paul, and everyone at Piper Memorial. Great job!!
