I have stopped in MMI a few times on my way from Florida to Michigan. Last fall mid October I made a fuel stop there at 8PM. The airport is about 5 miles from town and I wanted to stay the night. A 172 landed with an instructor and student from the FBO he let me take the van to town. There is a car, dog, 24HR fuel and very friendly people there.

Stopped in for gas. Two folks immediately came out to help. Terminal was very pleasant and all three people I interacted with were very nice. Even met the famous dog. 24-hour fueling via credit card machine when FBO is closed.

OK folks, never mind the obviously disgruntled previous comment. KMMI has an absolutely fantastic FBO, Athens Air, LLC and Ms. Gentry (Owner) and her gang are fabulous! They have a very comfortable and modern terminal building and very courteous and friendly service. I've been around this airport for a lot of years...Trust me...You won't be disappointed at "The Friendly City" (Athens, TN) Oh, ...Don't forget to say hi to "Boogers" the friendly, brown puppy dog when he comes out to greet you.

I was a little taken back by comment of Sandra Vest on Oct 10, 2007. Lots of discrepancies...1. MMI doesn't have a courtesy car...2. I doubt id anyone that works for the MMI Apt would take someone to lunch...3. We don't have a Billy's lunch diner...4. Our fuel prices aren't cheap...So I put two and two together...And Sandra and her husband landed at RNC. Wish we had all those things. And at present the MMI VASI on runway 2 has been out for 5 months.

Flew over from KRMG last week and missed the courtesy car by a few minutes. John Patterson (new manager) drove us to Billy's for lunch...Cant' ask for better service than that. Not only do they have a great fuel price, but my husband thought the attractive young lady doing the fueling was an added bonus.
