Avgas fuel truck was OTS when we arrived but it was on the ATIS so no issues. We took fuel at the self-serve pumps and taxied to Signature's FBO. $30 handling and $7 infrastructure fees were waived with our fuel purchase. $26/night for parking our piston single. Perfect experience as always.

Another positive experience at Signature in Santa Barbara. Arrived Friday and departed Sunday for a work and social trip in our 182. They fueled us on Saturday to allow for the $0.50 per gallon weekend discount. Beverly at the front desk has seen us for many years and always provides excellent and friendly service to us.

From Nikolai Morozov on 19-Sep-2021

Came on Sunday afternoon to bring my student to UCSB, taxi to FBO just to learn that FBO ramp is closed for all non-jets. I called to Signature few hours before and while I was told that they expect to be busy, they didn't mention that ramp may be closed completely. Note that Atlantic (second FBO in SBA) had their ramp already closed to non-jet by NOTAM since day before. Obviously Atlantic anticipated that Sunday Before-School-Year-Started it would be crowded. Why Signature did not put NOTAM? Was this year exception? And if so, why not use first-come-first-served approach? There were still few non-jet parking spots on ramp at the time they kicked us off. Well, at least they allowed us to stop for 15 minutes to unload our student and to use their bathroom, so two stars but not one.

Response from Matt Long, General Manager, Signature Flight Support
Dear Mr. Morozov – Thank you for our comment and expressing your concerns with our ramp constraints on Sunday. Due to heavy unscheduled demand, Signature was forced to make a tough decision to close our ramp for 1 hour, to ensure the safety of our customers and their assets. While I'm happy to hear that we were able to accommodate you, I truly apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with your stay

We make it to SBA a few times a year for pleasure in a 182. We've been to both FBOs on the field and there is a big difference between the services between them. At Signature we are marshaled in and the plane is tied down and the rental car is there before we even get out of the plane. We are treated just like the big-iron people. At the other FBO, we get marshaled to a tiedown spot where we have to push the plane in, tie it down and then schlep our bags across the ramp to check in and go find our rental car in the parking lot. No comparison! Signature gets the 5 big stars here!
