We flew in from Torrance in a 172 onto runway 4. Beautiful orchards below the approach. Landing at SZP is a little like putting the plane down in a parking lot. Pretty exciting, great place, beautiful, relaxed, and a real "aviators" airport. The restaurant was great and reasonable. Little day trips to places like this is why you get your pilots license. You can walk to main street Santa Paula and shop. The girls liked that. Lots of activity though, no advisories except from other pilots. A tetrahedron and old windsocks are about all you get ... Just plane fun.

This is a great airport to fly into. Nice planes to look at and good food and nice people and inexpensive fuel.

Busy little airport with a traffic pattern that is lower than normal and tight up against the mountains. But it's worth it. Friendly atmosphere and lots of cool planes. Transient parking spots are very close together - be careful! Restaurant (Logsdon's) is only 20 yards away and has very good food at reasonable prices. Self-serve fuel is cheap.

I used fuel pump #2 today. It was very well-behaved, with no tendency to squirt fuel anywhere other than into my airplane's tanks.

FYI. Be ware of Fuel pump #2, as it will squirt fuel into your face. Didn't want to try the other pump so I refueled at Camarillo.

Thought I'd update this since it's been awhile. Last weekend we flew in and stayed the night (overnight parking is free!). The restaurant on the field is very good and staff is friendly and helpful. Fuel was very reasonable...
