The main runway is 28. As of August 1, 2009 the east end of the runway is being repaved and there is a displaced threshold. Runway length is greatly reduced. The available landing distance is now somewhere around 4500 feet. Check NOTAMS for exact distance. Construction is slated to continue into September.

Overnight ramp fee for single piston was $7.00, (even though I did get fuel) and I did make use of the bathrooms and computer. Self-serve fuel was easy enough and well maintained. Restaurant appeared to be closed, at least it was not open on a holiday weekend, which seems odd. Beware of the squirrelly winds and density altitude here!

I operate a fairly successful helicopter training center and tour operation, in addition to aerial photography, and I often fly at TRK. There has never been a single time when the entire stop over was less than impeccable, with friendly staff, swift service and great safety oriented behavior. It is always a pleasure operating in and out of this beautifully located field. Come and enjoy this unique experience!

This is a marvelous place to visit even during the Reno Air Races. There are two excellent runways (Cross) but watch for gliders and listen for position calls. Self-service gas with a credit card is very user-friendly and rental cars are available adjacent to parking ramp. You can walk to the Hotel that is visible from the parking ramp but be careful of where you step (step on) in the field. If you carrying bags, I recommend the shuttle bus (50 cents) that runs once per hour between the airport and hotels. Very Enjoyable Stay!

Great airport: Enterprise delivered my rental car to the field and left the keys and contract at the airport office. You can drive out on the tarmac to load/unload your baggage. Good fuel prices to boot!

Airport is now charging landing fees for aircraft over 5,000 pounds MGTW, starting at $50 and ranging up to $200 for a Gulfstream.

Great staff hampered of late by a board that recently mandated a $30 fee for truck delivery of 100LL. This is in lieu of a per-gallon uplift, so the AirNav posted price for self-service and full-service appear identical. But beware the fee!

On Dec 21st, after a great day of skiing at Northstar, when we returned to the airplane, we found that it was covered in frost. The conditions were such that it would accumulate while I was trying to clear it. The airport folks allowed me to borrow a hangar so that I could remove the frost and have a safe departure. They brought us some tools to help us. All at no charge. Very fine experience.

We arrived at this airport shortly before 7PM to drop off passengers. The folks on the field were nice. But they were quick to charge us fees for use of the facility, yet they refused to sell us fuel. That may have been a good thing, as their fuel price was outrageous. A quick check on AirNav found fuel nearby in Carson City for more than $2.00 less per gallon at both FBO's compared with this airport.

Arrived 10-13, and was very pleased with the people who greeted us -- they are very nice. Unfortunately, that is all that can be said positively about this airport. The Jet-A price is ridiculous; the ramp fees are for what??? There are no services -- no lav service, no de-ice, no GPU, rental cars can't be brought onto the ramp -- and fuel is priced at $2.50 to $3.00 above into tank wholesale -- for what are we paying ramp fees??? To the "airport board members" who, we were told, run this airport, we will not return -- we will take our money elsewhere. We are happy to spend money when there is value attached to it -- there is NO value here.

The airport staff is friendly and super helpful. The self-serve has been standardized and is easy to use. Effective October 1, 2007, tie down fees have been increased and there's now a $30 additional fee to call out the 100LL truck during its limited operating hours (self serve price is not affected).

Looks like TRK is following the other airports. Ramp fees for a Falcon raised from $40.00 to $200.00 on October 1, 2007.

Parked the plane here during Reno Air Races 2007. Parking fee was *very* reasonable ($5/night vs $30/night quoted at RNO) and rental car was cheaper as well. Folks in Operations were helpful and friendly. ***Note that self serve fuel is NOT available outside hours -- important for early morning departures!
