2023-05-05 I flew my C172 from Del Rio, TX and arrived early afternoon. Having already called ahead earlier in the week to canvas the area, I was confident that Belen would be my preferred fuel stop. John Thompson, the airport manager, greeted me at the fuel pump as I rolled in. He and his staff even assisted me with my refueling at the self-service pumps. This is a first-class operation. I was initially drawn to KBRG because of its significantly lower fuel prices than anywhere else in the Albuquerque area, but the excellent customer service, courtesy car availability, and clean facilities are the true amenities of this operation. John Thompson stressed that he wishes to make Belen (KBRG) the gold standard in New Mexico aviation, and he has proved to me that he's achieving his goal. Trust me, this FBO/airport is well worth a slight course deviation. In close proximity to the township, there are plenty of dining and lodging opportunities for a meal or overnight stay.

Picked up AngelFlight passengers 4/11. Self-service fuel was easy, restrooms clean and access to FBO clearly marked. My pick up was done before business hours, but KBRG makes everything easy and convenient. Great place to stop.

Called from Vernon, TX to check on availability of fuel, motels, food, and courtesy car, expecting a late arrival in Belen. John answered the phone and was super helpful, indicating how we could access the courtesy car and recommended that we call for reservations at a local motel. He also had a recommendation for dining, but suspected our arrival would be too late (it was). Highly recommend this FBO...They want to promote general aviation! Good fuel prices, excellent manager, good accommodations, and 24-hour food nearby!

Well priced s/s fuel, friendly staff, FBO and bathrooms modest, but accessible after hours w/ UNICOM freq which is appreciated as an option.

This is my kind of airport. Small but with what I consider the best services in general aviation. 24 hour access, crew cars, wish that I had bought a hoddie or t-shirt as they have them for sale. It was Saturday afternoon when I arrived and Danny was sitting outside having his lunch. I received the best advice on where to stay and things to do in Belen. This is one of the airports that make GA GREAT. Thank you Belen.

Had planned a stop in Socorro on our way back to Tucson from South Dakota but landed in Belen due to weather. John, the airport manager met us at the pumps to make sure we had everything we needed & followed up again with us in the pilots lounge while we were eating the lunch we had brought with us. John seems very interested in make BRG the best airport it can be and to make pilots want to come back with great service. Runways- The runways have been recently re-done. According to John they were taken all the way down to dirt and rebuilt. Smoothest surface we landed on in a week of flying around the Midwest and western US. Fuel farm- appears new & worked flawlessly. Good price. Pilot lounge- Clean comfortable. Ice machine and water cooler. Microwave. Clean showers with nice towels. Clean bathroom. Courtesy car available 24/7. Fast Wi-Fi in the building. Recliner couch + single recliner chair fit for sleeping. Desktop computer. This will be our go to fuel stop in the area!

We stopped for fuel on our way back to Missouri from The City of Lost Wages. John Thompson, the airport manager, and an employee met us at the self fuel island and had the aircraft grounded and the fuel hose pulled out to the farthest tank before we were out of the plane and knew how much fuel we wanted. Their incredible hospitality and the availability of courtesy cars convinced us to call it a day and go into town to get dinner and a room. John has the vision as well as a feasibility study make the airport a regional gem by adding a new FBO building with restaurant and observation deck. We look forward to going back to see that come to life! The City of Belen should be proud of what they have going on at the airport. The new FBO will be beautiful, but I hope the city realizes that the people they have working the front line, interacting with the public, are what really makes the airport memorable. Keep up the great work, John!!

Very friendly guy at the airport, good gas prices. One Cafe was only takeout for COVID, the Mexican restaurant across the street gave me an overcooked burger with a tiny slice of not yet ripe tomato. Should have taken the courtesy car into town. But a really good stop!

Flew in for fuel. Great stop! John and Dominic were great. They did a great job with handling the refueling. They have a nice facility and are ready to help. They have a vehicle to use and places to go eat are close by. I'm sure we will be back.
