To turn on the Pilot Controlled Lighting, click your mic 5 times in LESS THAN 5 seconds. The controller and antenna were both replaced in September and have been tested with multiple aircraft at ranges of 10 to 12 miles and have been working well.

I saw that there were some recent issues with the PCL on the field. I was just wondering what the procedures are for 1K4. I came in a few weeks ago for fuel from KOUN and could not get the lights. Luckily it was a clear night with good visibility.

The new pilot lounge is about 95% complete and is now open to pilots. It is accessible 24hrs a day, and is stocked with snacks and cold drinks. It includes a flight planning computer, free wireless internet, new restroom, kitchen and a large, comfortable lounge. Avgas is available 24hrs with a credit card. Nice, comfortable quick stop for anyone local or just passing through. There is also now a flight school on the field with a Cardinal and Cherokee for rent and for training. They will move in to a new office in October, 2009.

The new terminal lounge and flight school office should be complete by the end of Aug; also PCL runway lighting is now fixed. New flight school on the field as well.

The restrooms & terminal are currently in terrible condition, partially due to neglect, and partially due to a storm that tore the roof off of the building. The repairs are not happening fast at all. They should start work before long though I believe...The city has worked out a deal with the insurance company, which hopefully may include a renovation of the terminal building and restrooms.

I tied down at Goldsby for the OU-Nebraska Game and found the restrooms to be unacceptable. Departing at night, the runway lights were working.

Pilot Controlled Lighting is currently out of order, so the lights are on all night. Hangar damage from June 2008 storms should be repaired soon, the city has been waiting on an insurance check. Ten new hangars are under construction. Fuel is still $4.58, but a new load should be coming before too long, so the price should go down substantially.

Gas was cheap. Runway lights seemed to work. FBO mechanic was helpful and good to work with. Hangar buildings have some damage from previous storm.

05-15-08, 1K4 was my fuel stop from KTOP to KILE. Quick in and out, self-service easy to operate. No food or drink, but fuel at 3.99, it's a great stop.

Monday Oct 1st: Lights are working fine. Fuel is still $3.80

Sunday 23 September, I couldn't get the lights to come on. Friday night they worked fine, but several attempts tonight yielded nothing. They've been redoing rwy 17-35 so maybe they hit something laying sod?? I'll try to update if something changes.
