Needed to have a transponder verified and a technician was at Dominion Aviation that quickly made a systems check. Very nice staff and outstanding service. Great facilities. It will be my regular stop in the Richmond area.

Showed up on a Friday afternoon at 5pm with a G1000 comm panel failure. Immediate, helpful response. Got a phone call on the way to my friends house that the problem had already been resolved. Thank you for the great service!

On 5/22/08 I landed at the airport for the first time and was greeted by two very nice ladies: Jessica and Amanda. I found them to be very helpful and take the positions they both hold there very serious. I travel all over the world and never met two young ladies that take customer service to the level as the two of them do. It is a joy to fly into the airport and will return soon!!!!!!!!!!!

N2212R - Flew in to KFCI on 5/1/08 and 5/2/08 to drop off and pick up a friend. Kudos to Kathy Stokes of Dominion Aviation Services. She was very helpful in answering all of my questions via email before the trip. Once we arrived, that excellent customer service continued. This airport is a gem for anyone heading to the Richmond area. They didn't charge me a ramp fee and I didn't buy any fuel. We ended up buying some on the return as a courtesy to these fine folks for their hospitality. Will be back and thanks again Kathy!

Flew in for business and they were able to get my DA40s oil changed and fix a problem with my alternate air. Very professional and extremely helpful a big change from my home FBO that only gives attention to jets. Worth the trip for work on my piston single. Heather and Jessica were both very helpful and friendly.

I could not be happier with Dominion Aviation at Chesterfield airport if I was the owner, and for good reason. Every time I have done business with Dominion they have treated me like I was the owner. You will not find a more friendly, attentive and, most important of all, trustworthy staff. If the Richmond, VA area is convenient to you Dominion is one FBO worth checking out. This year I will put a new engine in 8163F and you can be sure Dominion will do the job.

I'm based here and I really like this operation. What a pleasure to do business with professionals. Very nice facilities. Runway is currently at 2400 feet (resurfacing in progress), so check Notams.

Dominion Aviation provides outstanding service and expertise. I was on an Angel Flight with a stretcher patient flying from Baltimore to Knoxville when near Lynchburg, VA my airspeed dropped 10 knots and the CHT increased about 10. We landed in LYH but being Saturday, no mechanics were on duty. I called Dominion at FCI, knowing their reputation for excellence and even though it was Saturday in Chesterfield as well...The attendant reached Jimmy, a Dominion mechanic. After giving Jimmy a detailed description of the symptoms he predicted that the problem was likely a simple fouled plug, and, he added, it will probably be a lower plug. Jimmy was right on the mark. We cleaned the plugs and since I've flown to DC, Atlanta, Richmond and Chattanooga. The plane runs like a top. Jimmy's expert help on a weekend reassured my passengers and while I was concerned that they would be worried, instead they slept for the remainder of the Angel Flight to Knoxville. Thank you Jimmy and Dominion Aviation.

Flew into Chesterfield for a one-day business meeting. Line guys parked my single-engine Bonanza right in front of the FBO and right next to my running (with much needed A/C on maximum) rental car. Employees were exceptionally friendly and the facility was new and clean. A very classy operation that must be rewarded with my business every time I need to travel to Richmond.

Flew to Richmond for a meeting. Rental car was driven up to the plane. Requested 20 gal of fuel and accidentally topped off tanks. They defueled the excess and gave me a discount for their mistake. I will definitely return!

Stopped in on 10/29/06. Very nice FBO with attached restaurant. Very well organized with many amenities and in many ways appeared to be a major airport. Okay services from the counter personnel, but the locals were very helpful and friendly. The barbecue wasn't as good as expectations, especially coming in after a stopover in South Carolina. I would recommend as a stopover and definitely a better alternative for GA airplanes than KRIC

Fuel is quite high, but it's a friendly field, with a very nice terminal building. I grew up going (on the ground) to the Kings Korner BBQ & buffet at the airport, ($7.00 for a decent buffet is tough to beat), and it's great to still be able to fly in there now. Definitely recommend dropping in.

I arrived on June 12, 2006 and the Dominion was very pleasant and helpful. On June 15 when I was leaving I had a problem with my GNS530. The Dominion AME, quickly diagnosed the problem, was that the unit was not seated properly and sent me on my way. No charge. These guys are great. Thanks for your help.

High marks for Dominion Aviation! I had a very illusive problem with my 1991 Bonanza A-36. Dominion stayed with it, found the difficulty and gave me a very fair price in spite of the complexity of the repair. Thank you Dominion. Trustworthy Mechanics! Friendly Service!

Was overnight yesterday. Good service, attentive staff. Pretty new, comfortable facility. Fuel price was $3.78 for jet and seems very reasonable compared to the $5.07 at the FBO where I'm sitting right now or the more typical $4 + per gallon. The restaurant in the terminal had a very good buffet, too. Provide wireless Internet access though, please! Overall, a very good stop.

Flew in yesterday, 8 Nov 2005. Was entering the pattern from the NW for runway 33. Call in on CTAF at 15,10,5,3 miles and entering the right downwind to follow landing traffic. Preceding traffic exits runway and I call on the right base. Suddenly I get a "Left base at Chesterfield" now I'm looking for traffic on the opposite base. Turns out it's an overzealous desk employee providing her non pilot or ATC insight into me not entering on the left downwind. Even though I was following other traffic on the right downwind. When I questioned it I get told, "Well I'm not a pilot but I've been told to tell people left base only." So, I taxi off the active and wait at taxiway Charlie. No answer for parking instructions and passed the uninterested marshaller to be told by the same desk employee "you missed the marshaller". True, because he never motioned that he was waiting for me on a ramp full of planes. 180 back and park. Great tiedown by line staff, 4.78 a gallon for 100LL way too steep.
Response from Michael Jewell of Dominion Aviation Services I was the flight instructor who spoke with Mr. Doran prior to his departure from KFCI. Mr. Doran's self-annunciated calls for right hand traffic were surprising at an airport with left hand traffic, a fact that hopefully should have been clear to him when he planned his trip. In addition, his approach from the NW on a right downwind for Rwy 33 would have required him to cross the extended center line for traffic departing from Rwy 33 and thence potential conflict with nearby Class C airspace a couple of miles to the east. A more logical approach from the NW would have been a left downwind for Rwy 33. Helicopters based at KFCI practice approaches using right hand traffic. Mr. Doran did not say if he was following rotary traffic at a much lower altitude. As to Mr. Doran's other experiences, we will try to do better in future and will continue to treat all our transient customers, including Mr. Doran, with the utmost courtesy.

Stop here quite often for overnight trips. Tie-down fee for light singles is $5 per night with one night waived with fuel purchase. Low-lead fuel prices are consistently the highest that I encounter anywhere. The line service is consistently good, friendly and accommodating. The pilot briefing room and lounge are good and the inside staff is helpful. Overall the facilities and the staff are as good or better than most FBO's, but the fuel prices disappoint.
