Had to call FBO on the phone to get a line person to the ramp. Nobody directing traffic nor where to park. FBO smelled terrible. A tiny space with makeshift desk. No amenities in sight. People were very pleasant but no real service offered.

Selected this FBO because George responded promptly and offered a great deal for tiedown since I would be there for a week. Overall, it was great, although they could be more organized. I assume they have limited transient traffic possibly new management. I would return for sure. KHWO was crazy busy with a LOT of student traffic. Suggestion - use the Sheridan/Shoreline Departure when leaving. It allows you to depart VFR, then pick up IFR from Miami Dep prior to I-75 when heading west (not sure about east). The procedure is simple - at/below 1600 ft, direct westbound, remain south of Sheridan street & within 1 mile of the airport (assume it means N/S). My NW bound alternative was the Miami 9 departure, BNGOS transition, but tower said that would likely be a long wait for release. Sheridan departure was immediate and easy. Picked up IFR clearance from Miami Departure immediately.

If you want to experience the most friendly and welcoming environment, fly to NORTH PERRY CENTRAL FBO. Mike the owner his son ANGELO and their staff are eager to always offer their personal support. No wonder the ramp is always full of aircraft!! Great fuel prices and great service!!
