Diverted into KLGC. FBO was very helpful getting me fuel and on my way ASAP.

Arrived KLGC as our final stop with my family on 7/4/09. Had arranged with Avis to deliver a car to the FBO several days’ prior, and confirmed my reservation the night before arrival. Arrive about 9:30 AM on the fourth and there is no one at the FBO, everything is locked up, and no car. Called Avis, who initially insisted there was no airport in LaGrange. Finally got someone higher up who admitted there was an airport and said they dropped the ball in getting the reservation to the local office. Avis and all other car rental places in the area were closed, or didn't have cars. Called the airport manager at the phone number posted, he said they were closed for the holiday, and they don't use Avis because of too many problems like this. I did met an exceptionally good samaritan on the field who offered to let us use his personal car, and have nothing but the kindest thoughts of appreciation for that gesture. However, it was more than we could accept and we elected to fly out elsewhere.

Well, not all that shines brightly is gold. Wx diverted into LaGrange well before closing time as shown in AOPA guide, just to find out the field closed an hour earlier. SS fuel is available, but the pump is a bit tricky to use. Seems the on/off switch needs some work. GOOD NEWS is a fellow aviator and flight Doc who lives on the field and made a stranded aviator's evening better, a cold beer and a lift to the Best Western. "Hats Off" (I was glad when they closed they didn't turn off the lights.....)

I landed en-route from Tucson to Lakeland for Sun N Fun 08 promoting the Air National Guard's website dedicated to midair collision avoidance. The self serve pump is right next to the FBO terminal building. LGC is modern with a hometown feel. Very friendly folks! Highly recommended.

After flying coast to coast and border to border in my experimental RV-4, I have to say LGC is the best small town airport in the country...Friendly folks, cheap fuel, nice FBO and good runways.

Self-serve pump is easy to use and as mentioned it’s now right next to the FBO building, which is a very nice facility. I'd recommend.

Nice airport to land into. Self Service pump has been move right next to the FBO building instead of all the way across the field. Friendly staff. I'd recommend Troup.
