There are better places to get 100LL fuel compared to here from a price and reliability standpoint; the credit card reader for the self-serve pumps doesn't always works or gets disconnected, which makes getting fuel after-hours challenging. I've even been charged the full-service price for 100LL and not the self-serve prices when I had to get an override at the self-serve pumps (which is just wrong after the inconvenience and frustration of an unreliable credit card reader!) and some of the staff just seems dismissive of the issues on hand. Honestly, I expected better from my home airport and I'll make it a point to take my business elsewhere for the time being.Response from Ron Peters, Manager, Salem Aviation Fueling @ Salem Air Center
Hi Mike, I am sorry that you received such questionable service. The equipment is a problem... we are doing our best to resolve the issue. We apologize that you were charged incorrectly. This should not have happened... Yes, you do deserve better. We are working to win back your respect.

I was based in Salem this past week for survey work and received great service from Salem Aviation Fueling. This was my second opportunity this year to have been based there, and both times they took care of hotel and car rental issues seamlessly. Ron, Echo, Mark, Patrick, Micah and Brian were very attentive to my needs and pleasant to be around. I like this place.

Arrived here 20 min before closing. We hadn't reserved a car prior to our arrival due to weather concerns and not sure where we would end up. Anyway, they had a rental car available luckily and got us fixed up promptly.

Ron and Echo (CSR) and ramp guys really do a FANTASTIC job from the moment we arrived. The CSR gave us a crew car to use overnight and made hotel reservations for us. These people really care about the aviation community. We fly into Salem once a month and their service has always been great! They take care of things quickly and professionally. Clean bathrooms and FBO.I have always had great service with Salem Air Center and can't wait to go back to enjoy their hospitality again!

The airport handed out fuel discount coupons at the 2022 Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show. They refused to honor the discount coupon when I tried to use it on May 31, 2022. Response from Ron Peters, Manager, Salem Aviation Fueling @ Salem Air Center
Mr. Miller, Thank you so much for stopping in to Salem and allowing us to help you with your fueling. In offering the coupon, we offered the best possible pricing to the aviation community in the Northwest that we could. Under normal circumstances this would have been sufficient to cover any contingencies or fluctuation in pricing. No one anticipated the HUGE increase in fuel pricing that hit us in the following months. Unfortunately the pricing on the coupon is now below our COST! We do our best to accommodate the bearer of the coupon with an extremely discounted price in keeping with the spirit of the intent of the Conference discount. My understanding is you were given a $0.90 cent discount off truck price... $0.40 cents below our Self Serve price. (Our lowest price on the field) We appreciate you picking Salem as your destination of choice. Sincerely, Ron
