I stopped in to pick up some guys, and the attendant at the FBO went above and beyond. He stayed well after closing to make sure we got everything we needed. Thanks!

Stopped in this past Friday as I had some business in Sulphur Springs. As usual, the FBO was first class and the attendant was excellent. Taxiway is being resurfaced and the runway lights are inop for the duration, so make sure you schedule arrivals/departures during daylight hours. This is a great airport in a great town.

Wish our experience were as good as the others here. Flew in to SLR on Sunday, 6/29/08. The terminal was closed on Sundays; no one was around except some fairly unhelpful people moving stuff out of the Civil Air Patrol building. Refueled at the self-serve. The door to the pump enclosure was missing, someone had put the hose away with the open nozzle pointed up, was full of rainwater. The terminal was locked up with access only to the toilets, but not flight planning or a phone. I couldn't close our flight plan, so we decided to take off and close it through an RCO at another airport nearby. As we were taking off, a police car rolled out onto the ramp and watched us. When I called the FSS on the RCO freq, he told us they'd activated search and rescue, explaining the cop. We weren't impressed by SLR and stopped at Paris, TX (PRX) on our return trip, a MUCH nicer place to stop in our opinion.

Great stop! I flew in to look at a Legend Cub made at the field and received the royal treatment. The Legend tour was good, but meeting some of the local aviators made the stop great. Looked a recently completed experimental Super Cub that was stunning. Loaded up with fuel at pricing that left me smiling. Fun airport.

Flew into SLR on Good Friday. Excellent service. I called before we flew in and talked with Joey Butler about getting a hangar to put the plane. He called me back several times to provide me status on his progress - he was going to be gone when we arrived over the holiday. However, when we arrived Stanley met us when we landed and went the extra mile to ensure that our experience was positive. I will recommend this airport to anyone and will return. The city of Sulphur Springs should be proud of having such great ambassadors representing their city.

Stopped in for a quick fuel stop. Self serve pump would not work with credit card, so I taxied down to the FBO. Received quick, quality service from everyone I met. It's also quite cool to see Cubs all around the area. The only bone I have to pick, of course with no relation to the FBO, is the runway and taxiway surfaces could definetly use some maintenance.

Stopped into Sulphur Springs on a long cross country in my PA-12. Got shortstopped by weather. Joey Baker, airport manager, rolled out the red carpet and put every service of the airport at my disposal. Mr. Baker was also kind enough to put my plane inside for the night. Can't say enough about all the folks at Sulphur Springs. It's a diamond in the rough. Many thanks and hope to be back again.

Nice little airport with very friendly airport bums. I highly recommend checking out the LSA cub factory it alone is worth the stop.
