Outstanding service and well-maintained self-service pumps. Good food at the Red Barn Cafe across the street. SLR is the home of American Legend Aircraft Company - awesome place!

The Classic Jet Aircraft Association held it's 1st Annual Texas Jet Blast at KSLR 11/7 - 11/10. Kudos to Joey Baker, Airport Manager (and his entire staff. Christi, Matt, Casey, Stanley & Ely) for helping out with the coordination of this event. They really rolled the red carpet out for our group and everyone that flew in or drove in really enjoyed themselves and the nightlife in Sulphur Springs. Highly Recommended FBO!!!

Stopped to fuel my Aerostar, on landing called Unicom to get the "Fuel Truck". No one answered repeated calls. So I went to the self serve station. Fueling station was fine, but there is no rest room within half a mile! Should not advertise full service when there is no service. And no restroom in sight! This was Sunday Jan 20 about noon.

Flew the Trinidad over with another pilot so he could pick up his plane that was being repaired at American Legend Aircraft Company. The airport is in very good overall condition. Runway, Taxiway, ramps all in very good shape. Fuel is both self-service and full service from the truck. The self-serve fuel is around midfield at a different ramp than the FBO, the pump and tank is visible from the parallel taxiway. FBO is near the south end. The FBO building is quite nice and well decorated. Inside the FBO is what looks like a reproduction of an Octave Chanute style hang glider from late 1800's. Also at the field is the American Legend Aircraft Company, which builds new American Legend Cubs. Quite an interesting factory if you are lucky enough to get a quick tour. Across the highway from the FBO is the Red Barn Cafe. At the north end of the airport is a lake, for passengers the lake will give the airport that that really unique feel when you take off or land.
