Did stop by there on Tuesday, 8-04-09 at 6pm. Fuel pump was not functional. I do believe someone was going to work on it. Would call to make sure it is up and running.

Stopped in SWI for fuel - great price. While checking oil on right engine, I noticed the wire on the alternator was broken. John Hooker of J&S Aviation came out, took a look had her fix in less then 5 minutes. Very friendly and outstanding service.

Great cross country stop before heading into southern Texas. SS pump worked great, with easy access to pumps. Southbound flight around DFW was no sweat from this location. Thanks, City of Sherman, for helping to keep the cost of flying down!!

Stopped 4/03/09 for fuel stop. Excellent fuel price. CC avail, though we didn’t use it. Typical GA FBO. Not glamorous, but more than adequate. Nobody was there, but terminal was accessible. Town looked pretty from the air. I would definitely use SWI again.

My son and I stopped on our way form Hershey, PA to Yuma, AZ. John Hooker of J&S Aviation, gave us the "Airport Car" for the night and directed us toward hotels and places to eat. Weather kept us in Sherman for a day and a half. John let us keep the car during our entire stay and also found an open hangar for us to use while the storms came through. Cheap fuel and great hospitality to boot. Couldn't ask for more. Thanks John

Arrived evening unannounced for great fuel pricing ($4.36/gal.) and RON. John was still there past normal working hours. He was very friendly and helpful--highlighted route on map he furnished to guide us to "motel row", gave us code to obtain after hours access to terminal bldg. And ramp gate, helped tie down the airplane (with newly installed tie downs), and offered, "crew car" for the night. Ramp is newly resurfaced; airport is clean and well maintained. Don't pass SWI if you want a great small airport experience! Airport cat is a hoot too.

An excellent airport and an excellent value to GA. It still has the lowest fuel prices (sometimes almost $2 lower than McKinney, 25 miles to the south). A good gateway to the DFW-FW area.

Love the fuel price! Made a quick trip to the Dairy Queen using the courtesy car before continuing on my way. Second time I've visited the place, and won't hesitate to do so again.

Very low fuel prices. $3.29 this past weekend. Even when the place is closed you can enter the building and use the computer for flight planning, WX and duats.

Stopped in for fuel on 9/15/2007. Was met at the pump by a friendly man (forget his name) that helped me with refueling even though it is self-service. GREAT fuel prices $3.37 gal. Very nice lounge @ FBO & clean restrooms. Super nice people. Even had free soft drinks @ cookies. The perfect example of what every airport should be.

Excellent! I stopped for an overnight and fuel. Was met by John Hooker of J&S Aviation. Very Helpful. Was given the "Airport Car" for the night. John pointed out an area with numerous hotels and places to eat. Aviation Fuel price was excellent! This is a "must stop" Thanks John

Every 6 months we fly from Switzerland (commercial, of course...) to fly around in the USA, mainly in Texas and neighboring states. We love to come to SWI on Saturdays, their fuel prices are the best around, most of the times we can keep the courtesy car for the evening and we go watch stock car races at the close by track. Very friendly folks, always helpful, we have been doing this for a few years and expect to do it for many more.

Ditto to the comments about the fuel prices. I fly through here occasionally and stop whenever in the area to purchase fuel. If you'll check the aviation fuel nationwide, you'll find that the $2.53/gallon for 100LL is the absolute lowest price in the nation as of this posting. They always have very, very reasonable prices and it's a very quick turn for fuel and a break. The FBO is quite clean and the service is as good as it gets. Thanks for being such an aviation-friendly stop!

I am rarely this impressed! Absolutely the best gas prices I've seen in recent memory ($2.53 vice over $3.00 gal pretty much everywhere else in the country) and the courtesy car was in great condition. This will definitely be a stop of mine every time I come through the area as long as these prices and this service lasts!

I was at SWI today and found only a trickle of fuel coming out of the pump. I climbed down off of the ladder and recycled the pump (which caused it to spit out a 69 cent receipt) and I tried to pump fuel again. I shut the pump off (another 5 cent receipt) and walked into the maintenance hangar. Sure enough, the airport ran out of avgas yesterday. The folks were extremely helpful and friendly, even offered me the loaner car to go get some MoGas. Maybe next time the tank is dry, they could put a post-it note on the self-service panel or pull the circuit breaker on the pump. Regardless, fellow pilots should be aware that they do run out of gas.
