From Don Shields on 12/29/2008 I stopped for fuel and to get an alternator checked. The mechanic was more than helpful. The prices were fair with great service. I highly recommend will return

Winder used to have competitive fuel prices. Not so anymore. Looking at fuel prices along my route today from KPGD to KWDR, Winder is over one dollar more than most out of AirNav.

Stopped for lunch at the Spitfire Deli yesterday, and my nose wheel went flat due to a hole in the tube. Romanair replaced the tube, and we were on our way in about 1.5 hours. Friendly folks and quick service!

Stopped in my third time on my way from Ft. Lauderdale and this is a very fine airport for a stop. The people that frequent this airport are quite nice and helpful, the military personnel training in the helicopters are very accomodating, and Spitfire Pete's is a very nice small restaurant. There are Flight planning facilities in abundance, but clearance is through a GCO that is unreliable, but VFR and clearance in the air works - if conditions permits. Fuel prices are very reasonable and an excellent stopover point coming North from Florida.
