Great folks, very professionally run. They couldn't have been any nicer to facilitate our Citation with a heated hangar overnight and paying attention to every detail. Its amazing how they get a totally iced and snow covered runway ready for one to depart, awesome! Thanks so much!

Nice airport...Small town feel to the place. Everyone was nice and helpful. They prefer you to land on Rwy 9 and takeoff on 27. Lots of challenges but worth it...Fly up the valley from the Cones (ETL) VOR...Landing on Rwy 9 is downhill. Taking off on Rwy 27 is down hill too. Airport sits on a Mesa so expect the usual issues with that...Visual illusions, turbulence issues if there is wind. Jet traffic in the area...Highest commercial airport in the country...Know your stuff about high altitude flying--lean mixture, takeoff and landing data.... I put this down as one of the coolest places I've ever flown due to the awesome scenery...Breathtaking.

This is a very well run airport. There is a $10 landing fee, but in my opinion they earn it with their attention. This is an almost must do stop if you are in the area; it has to be one of the nation's most scenic settings, right up there with Glacier NP; even the airport setting is impressive. It is on a mesa shelf with a drop on three sides - not the stuff to be used in learning about ground turbulence in windy conditions, and attention is needed to density altitude. Telluride itself is enjoyable and accessible - National cut us a sweet short-term deal when it turned out the crew car was out (though be sure to bring a pocket full of quarters for the parking in town - merchants we asked wouldn't make change). Don't miss the free gondola trip.

Very helpful and enjoyable group of folks. If you haven't been to Telluride, put it on your list of must see destinations. You will not be disappointed. Pay attention to the arrival and departure procedures, as the surrounding geography is unforgiving.

Flew into Telluride on 8-12-06. Trying to leave on that evening, BOTH comms went out. Eric tried to hook me up with an avionics repairman, but one would not be able to arrive until late Sunday afternoon. He lent me his portable so I could make it back home. A first class experience from a first class FBO.

Professional and efficient. A little pricey (e.G., $20 GPU charge even with over 100 gal. Of fuel purchased) but, all in all, a good experience. Be sure and check the approach and departure procedures for noise abatement, and turbulence advisories located on the airport's web site.

I've always wanted to make it to KTEX, and was finally able, today. The staff was very friendly, and the landing fee for our C-182 was just under 5 dollars. We stayed for a few hours, enjoying the Smuggler (the box canyon burger is a good choice.), and the free gondola rides atop the surrounding mountains. As stated, the approach can be challenging, but the trip is certainly rewarding.

About a month ago I flew a C182 from California for a long weekend. They were very friendly, sent someone to guide me to parking, and properly handled my fuel order. It's a beautiful airport in a splendid little town. No WiFi for pilots, though. I recommend Smuggler's brewpub downtown for a good meal.
